Madison Cawthorn goes full-on Nazi after losing his Primary:
“It’s time for the rise of the new right, it’s time for Dark MAGA to truly take command,” Cawthorn, 26, wrote on Instagram. “We have an enemy to defeat, but we will never be able to defeat them until we defeat the cowardly and weak members of our own party. Their days are numbered. We are coming.” Twitter users describe “Dark MAGA” — a take on Trump’s Make America Great Again slogan — as a group that believes there’s no political solution beyond vengeance, Newsweek reported, and that the former president has been too kindhearted and forgiving to his political opponents. It also has ties to neo-Nazi and white supremacy, Business Insider reported.
Aside from the fact we have yet to see a "light" MAGA, this is a typical reaction from an immature, spoiled rotten man-child. But we can't (or shouldn't) let this temper tantrum distract us from important business, like the NCGA's upcoming Budget adjustments:
Speaking on the House floor on Thursday to criticize the Biden administration's handling of the economy, Cawthorn said, "It was Thomas Jefferson that said, 'Facts are stubborn things. And whatever may be our wishes, or the dictates of our passions, they cannot alter the state of facts and evidence.' "
This is a famous quote from John Adams, not Jefferson. (Cawthorn omitted two of Adams' words in the quote.) Adams uttered it in 1770 while serving as defense lawyer for British soldiers who had been charged with murder in the Boston Massacre.
Using my Jeff Foxworthy voice: "If you go to the trouble to memorize almost an entire quote, but you get the author of the quote wrong, you just might be an idiot." It's also noteworthy that Adams did not rely on facts in his defense of the British soldiers, he used racism and hyperbole to attack the character of the people who were shot by those soldiers. But back to Maddy and his tortured history:

The official account for Cawthorn, the 25-year-old Republican from Hendersonville, tweeted Tuesday afternoon that he was “happy” to see needed money go to four health clinics in his district that help vulnerable residents. Not only that, he was “Proud to see tax-payer dollars returned to NC-11.”
As Cardinal & Pine previously reported, Cawthorn skipped the vote to give a speech to conservative activists, where he criticized the bill as a waste of money and a handout that would foster laziness and dependency.
Dude is shameless, just one lie after another. Apparently "focusing on comms" is code for saying anything, regardless of the truthfulness of it. Here's more on Madi's lust for media exposure:
Hines said football has helped prepare him for a possible future in Congress. Hines describes himself as a traditional pro-life, pro-Second Amendment conservative but said he has some differences with Foxx he plans to hammer.
"My constituents are worried about tech censorship," Hines said. "That's something I don't think Congresswoman Foxx has hit on much. ... We have a very America First agenda. We’re going to press that hard. I think the American people understand capitalism is the best way to grow the economy ... but also want fair trade."
I will leave that football comment alone so close after the Tom Brady Bowl, other than to say: It also prepared Gerald Ford for Congress, but apparently not for stair-climbing or snow-skiing. That "tech censorship" thing is either a whine about Trump being booted from Twitter, or Bo's buddies being forced to go to Parler for racist insurrectionist talk. Not home-schooled like Cawthorn, but he did graduate from a Christian high school. *sigh*
You know, this is exactly what happened in the Revolutionary War. You know, we just felt like we didn't have any representation so people wanted to go and fight because of that.
It was *nothing* like what happened in the Revolutionary War, you twit. In the 1760's the British Parliament passed numerous restrictive acts on the Colonies, which included several forms of taxation (without representation). But it wasn't just the money being squeezed out of colonists, the Quartering Act required the colonists to house and feed the very Crown soldiers who were oppressing them. Those troops literally booted families out of their homes and moved in, with zero compensation. 80 million Americans voted Trump out of office, but you chose to ignore the will of the people. Just like George III did. Maddy is not much for critical thinking, either:

As this election season moves into the final stages, it's worth recapping the pros and cons of candidates surrounded by controversy. One of least appealing among them is the guy named Madison Cawthorn. He's pictured here, wrapped in the American flag, insulting patriots and veterans who fought and died to protect the country it stands for.
Any true patriot knows that treating the flag like an overcoat expressly violates the US Flag Code:
I'm sorry Madison Cawthorn was in an accident. I'm sorry he couldn't go to the US Naval Academy like he wanted. But I'm disgusted that he's using his accident and his wheelchair to explain why he didn't get to go.
