What a week!
Don't you love how George Pence writes? It's tempting to agree with him just because of his style. And Greg Flynn's weigh with words just knocks my socks off. Did you see what he wrote about the Army brass and the McCain Doctrine of Escalation? It's an all time best: Surging Generals Warning
Plus we had a great visit from Michael Munger, who's trying to get on the ballot for Governor as a third party candidate. (I'm for that. Sign his petition if you are too.) Mike is the closest thing to a sane Libertarian I've ever encountered. He seems like a really great guy.
And to top it all off, Kirk Ross takes us to our first committee meeting. You can get to it through Exile on Jones Street If you haven't listened, it is WAY worth the trip. The story that will rip your heart out. I'm serious.
This is about as good as it gets in my book.

There's a story behind "yummmmmmmm."
A few years ago, our family sang the word "ommmmmmmmmm" as a grace before meals. One day we had a kid visiting to asked why we were singing "yummmmmmm." Well, that changed everything.
Today we sing "yummmmmmmm" before meals in three-part harmony (or more if there are guests). It's one of the most wonderful things in the world. Don't try it unless you're prepared to do it forever. Because once you start, you won't want to stop.

Yesterday Kirk Ross reported on the hearing on the death penalty in Raleigh and provided an audio link to some of the most moving testimony you'll ever hear. Today the mainstream news media reported the story as well - 12 hours later and without the voice of Shirley Burns.
I'd say he kicked butt.
I tried this with my family, A
they wouldn't go alongn with me. Maybe they thought I was making them sing for their supper. I guess we'll give thanks for our meals the traditional way.

I couldn't sleep. I was surprised to find that I wasn't alone from about 2:30am on there seemed to be someone else here on and off. I finally got the time to read and follow links. Sadly, thinking skills are lacking that early in the morning. :)
