YDNC Event: Saving Our Schools

On November 13, we will hold the first ever YDNC Education Initiative: "Saving Our Schools" at 7 pm at Southern Durham High School. This event will feature State Superintendent of Public Instruction June Atkinson and NCAE President Eddie Davis. We hope to recruit educators and young parents with this event.

This will be the first of four such events in our statewide education series. We are excited about this event and look forward to engaging the community on an issue of importance for YDNC and the state in general.

I plan on being there. Person Co. schools could be so much

than they are. A teacher whose room is down the hall from me has a quote posted outside of his door:

"The purpose of education is to replace an empty mind with an open mind."

Our schools today seem good at turning out minds that are really good at bubbling in a,b,c, or d.

Person County Democrats

I actively oppose gerrymandering. Do you?

Thanks for going

I'd love to read about it after the event. It's exciting to see so much activity coming from the YD's.

Robin Hayes lied. Nobody died, but thousands of folks lost their jobs.

Vote Democratic! The ass you save may be your own.

While you are there

Have the teachers union start fighting FOR transfer taxes for your communities. Right now, any money spent on the school building is money not spent on school programs. Every dollar spent from transfer tax money to fix a school is one more dollar that the school could use for student programs.

With a transfer tax, schools can be helped. Without the transfer tax, ooo just raise your taxes for these school programs.

Explain that one away ooooo mighty ticks....

I hope you all can make it

It will be good to see the two Dem candidates for State Super. there and hear their ideas and feedback.
