YDNC Celebrating Women's History Month & Fighting the Amendment

If you've read BlueNC in the month, you know the Young Democrats of North Carolina are having a convention this week. What you may not have heard about are the two empowering events that begin and end the convention.

On Friday March 30, the YDNC Women's Caucus concludes its celebration of Women's History Month with the Young Democrats of North Carolina Women's Caucus Legacy Reception, honoring four Democratic Women including Charlotte's very own Susan Burgess & Samara Foxx. On Sunday April 1, our convention weekend concludes with a Day of Action Against the Constitutional Amendment (aka Amendment 1).

Legacy Reception

Starting at 7:00 PM on March 30 at the Burgess Home, the YDNC Legacy Reception will honor four exceptional Democratic women: the late Charlotte Mayor Pro Tem Susan Burgess, Governor Bev Perdue, Samara Foxx, and The Hon. Jennifer “Jenna” Austin Wadsworth, Wake County Soil and Water Conservation District Supervisor. Tickets are $15 for Students, $25 for Young Democrats, and $35 General Admission.

If you'd like to know more, you can read about the event here.

Day of Action Against the Constitutional Amendment

Our Day of Action Against the Constitutional Amendment starts at 10:30 at the NCDP Charlotte Headquarters, 301 E. 9th St. - the event is free to the public, so please sign up! Even if you can't join us in person, you can sign up to fight the Amendment from home. We will have YDNC LGBT Caucus elections at 10:30 AM, trainings starting 11:15 AM, and we'll hit the phones at 12:30 PM. Representatives from the North Carolina Democratic Party and the Coalition to Protect North Carolina Families will join us.
