Weekend wound up

You see, we're having this big party next weekend and half of my back yard is borderline construction site. Seriously. I have one boatload of getting ready to do.

Yeah

This is going to piss some people off.

Wow!

The Robert Reich? The one who is short of stature, but very large in legacy? Endorsing Obama over Clinton?

Wow. Great find, PD.

I keep NPR on pretty much nonstop in the house

and I am sure I heard it on one of their hourly newscasts last night. The endorsement is well written and I am thinking of sending that link to my cyber contacts as soon as I come out of the closet as a Obama delegate wannabe. (oops)

Person County Democrats

I actively oppose gerrymandering. Do you?

Get busy, James

I'm getting ready for my county convention this morning and then Senator Clinton is opening her office here in Monroe this afternoon. Finally something I can attend without driving halfway around the world.....which reminds me. I never posted any of the pictures I took of Bill. Oooops.

[edit] - The Obama campaign hasn't opened anything close to me. Does anyone know if they are opening anymore offices and where they might be?

Vote Democratic! The ass you save may be your own.

I think their plan was to have one

in every congressional district.

They have two in Guilford County- one in the 6th in Greensboro and one in the 13th (I think) in High Point.

Since they actually have a designated official staff person responsible for organizing my own rock-ribbed republican RANDOLPH, I'd be surprised if they didn't have someone in charge of most (every?) other county.

How did I miss this?

I couldn't remember my precinct number being new and all, so I went to the county party web site to check it out and John Conyers is coming to speak on behalf of Barack Obama tomorrow! I love John Conyers!

The one who seems to be bitter is Hiillary Clinton

I have sat on the fence long enough. Hillary is really getting under my skin. I'm going to vote for Obama ASAP. I won't be changing my mind again.

Good on ya!

Dan Besse

Just curious. Besse list Lumberton as a place of employment. I don't remember him being in Lumberton. Not that everyone has to check in with me to live in Robeson County but I thought I knew most of the Lawyers in Town. Can anyone enlighten me on when Besse was in Lumberton and where he worked.

Dan's wife, Kay House, worked in Lumberton as a legal aid lawyer

For a time, when Dan was at Pamlico Sound Legal Services in New Bern, Kay was in Lumberton with Lumbee River Legal Aid, first as a staff attorney and then later as a managing attorney.

Dan spent a lot of time in Lumberton during this period, but it was Kay who actually worked there.

edit: I'm guessing that you're referring to this from Dan's bio at his website:

After a stay in Greensboro, Dan and Kay spent a decade working in New Bern and Lumberton in the eastern part of the state. In 1993, they returned west to Winston-Salem, which they have made their home ever since.

His vitae is here.

Besse in Lumberton

Thanks, my curiosity is satisfied.

Wow James..Word gets around.. Yesterday in Greenville,

where I went to speak at the convention, a person, who I did not know, asked me if I was going to the Bloggers Bash at "James" house.

Of course I said yes.

I get to go hear John Conyers this afternoon!!

Today at 5:00 p.m. he will be speaking in Monroe for Obama and I get to meet Sean Astin tomorrow at 3:30 if I can get through all the older ladies in Monroe who will be swooning over him. :D He's coming to speak at Hillary's office and will be speaking at the Democratic Women's Donkey Dinner Monday evening.

Kay Hagan endorsed by Char-O

....however, they did say nice things about Jim Neal. In the past they didn't always say nice things about the person who wasn't endorsed, so it was very nice to see that they didn't give reasons to not vote for Jim if you are so inclined. Here's the endorsement.

The rest will trickle out over the week.

You know, if she wants

to "promote renewable energy in the Senate" as this article states, she could start by pushing this bill out of the Budget Committee.

I'm also wondering why, if this issue is so important to her, I didn't see anything even remotely associated with this subject on the list of bills she sponsored last session. She's not even one of the 15 sponsors of SB3 (as faulty as it is).

Maybe I missed something...
