The Weekend to Rally for Larry Kissell

This weekend brings two exciting opportunities for Larry Kissell and his supporters. Tonight Congressman Artur Davis will be rallying in support of Larry Kissell at Veteran's Park in Charlotte and tomorrow morning Kissell and Hayes will both be attending an event here in University City.

Tonight (Friday) at 6pm Congressman Artur Davis from Alabama will speak in support of Larry Kissell. The rally is at Veterans Park, 2136 Central Avenue in Charlotte. Congressman Davis is a rising star on the national level. He is an influential member of the Congressional Black Caucus, is Vice-Chair of the DCCC, and serves on the House banking committee. The event is free and open to the public. It will start at 6pm and will be at Veterans Park, located at 2136 Central Avenue.

Another exciting event below the fold...

Also, please join candidate Kissell on Saturday August 26, at 11am for University City's Stumpin' In the Park. It lasts from 11am to 1pm and will be held at the University City YMCA at 8100 Old Mallard Creek Road.(Behind the Eckerd on the corner of Harris and Mallard Creek) This will be the first time both candidate Kissell and Representative Hayes will be at the same event, so come show your support for Larry. Rumor has it that Hayes is bringing a bus full of imports. Wear sunny Kissell yellow and let's show Hayes what real support looks like!

It's rally time!

We've had a lot of rain and I'm planning on this being a beautiful weekend. Let's make it even better by heading out to both events. Not only can we support Larry, but we can send Hayes the message on Saturday that it is time for a change and he isn't in the plans!

Larry has no where else to go BUT UP! Thanks for keeping us informed SD, you really are amazing!

Thanks, Mo!

My girls are going to go and I think a couple of their friends will be there. I may get them to hand out balloons for Larry. Put them to work.

NC Spin is out of the loop

This was in my NC Spin newsletter this week.

"On the Congressional level most all agree the only play will be for longtime Congressman Charles Taylor’s 11th District seat. Democrats are salivating over former quarterback Heath Shuler’s chances of unseating the incumbent and, in fact, some polls indicate Shuler may hold a lead over Taylor. If the Democrats are to re-take the House this is one seat they must win and the national party understands this, so you can be sure this will be a battleground. But Taylor has faced fierce opposition before and has seen his share of national Democrats in his district working against him. Here’s our best observation: Never underestimate the power of incumbency. Taylor has been through the battles before and has always emerged a victor. If you have to bet, bet on Taylor.

The only other race that will be fun on the Congressional level is Vernon Robinson’s comical campaign against Brad Miller. Robinson makes Republicans want to change parties. Most of what Miller has to do is keep his cool in the face of the loose cannonballs flying harmlessly around him and act like a Congressman."

Do one of y'all want to write and clue them in to what's going on in NC-08? Someone else can respond to the bad betting advice for NC-11. Tom Campbell seems like a reasonable fellow most days ... when Johnny Hoodwink isn't bending his ear.

"They took all the trees and put them in a tree museum Then they charged the people a dollar 'n a half just to see 'em. Don't it always seem to go that you don't know what you've got till it's gone? They paved paradise and put up a parking lot."

Its a good thing. No one will be giving money to Larry based on NC Spin. People might give to Hayes because of it though. So dont complain.

"Keep the Faith"

It's spin in the purest sense of the word

Wingnuts think that if they say something long enough and loud enough that it will become true. And the sad thing is, they're pretty effective at controlling the agenda. Reporters and editors take their cues from bullshit like this and the next thing you know, it's "news."

Which is why the ground game in NC 8 is so critical. Larry's doing a great job hitting the streets and meeting people.

All in all, I prefer to for Flipper to start believing his own press. That'll make it all the more sweet when Congressman Kissell goes to Washington. And Flipper will be left crying in his beer, wondering what the hell happened.

Well, Flipper, we all know what happened: CAFTA.

Wish we could be there.

Just take a big can of "Whup Ass" and hose Hayes with it.
