Actually, I want to say that in response not just to Jerimee, whose wit and premature wisdom I admire (he's way too young to be as smart as he is), but also to Greg and to James, because I agree with the latter two about Max.
It didn't take long to notice that notwithstanding Max's sometimes cartoonish postures, and notwithstanding that he is often annoying and obnoxious, Max is also intelligent and enjoyable. I respect his zeal and his creativity and what I take to be a fairly friendly attitude toward those in opposing camps. I skip a lot of Max's posts (that all caps stuff will turn me off every time), but when I have read him I have gotten a sense of general good will.
And I must have missed (what with having frequently passed on Max's comments) where he was homophobic. I would be disappointed to find that to be the case.

Thank you for the replies. BlueNC is a site I have often read because of the quality of the content and the responses of the posters. Unfortunately, the poster I made the comment about has made similiar remarks in the past. What I find troubling and telling is that this type of commentary would probably not be tolerated if it targeted a group in regards to their color, religion, etc. While the poster may have intended it as satire and that is how many interpreted it why cast aspersions and denigrate a group that have already been marginalized. These are people struggling for the basic civil rights the rest of us take for granted. The problems we have today are the result of factors such as hypocrisy, greed, corruption and dishonesty. Not anyone's sexual preference. If finding a little truth or reality has to come through the belittling of a group of people I'll have to pass. Peace.

Party campaign committee tactics
I think it's creepy when even party campaign committees do these kinds of blatant pay-to-play pitches. But it's so much worse when individual candidates do them. This kind of thing goes on all the time, but usually the candidate will cloak it in the NRCC, RNC, NRSC/DCCC, DNC whatever; there is the implication that the candidate will eventually get the money, but it passes through the party committee, which is legal and probably always will be.
This kind of pay-to-play pitch directly operated by the candidate should be illegal today.
