Not a single one of North Carolina's Republican members of Congress voted in favor of a bill freeing up more baby formula.
Each one voted Nay, with the exception of @virginiafoxx, who did not vote at all:https://t.co/64rVIHeTbZ #ncpol— Carolina Forward (@ForwardCarolina) May 23, 2022
Pay attention to what they do, not what they say. And you will conclude that Republicans only care about wealthy donors.
This could be big:
NC Sheriffs Association no longer wants to transport people suffering mental crises.
Police involvement often adds to the trauma of being committed. Advocates hope lawmakers shift the responsibility to health experts. #ncpolhttps://t.co/QEboTnkqLv— Andy Specht (@AndySpecht) May 23, 2022
As many reading this are aware, my father had Alzheimer's for several years before he passed away. Shortly after we finally put him into a nursing home (that specialized in Alzheimer's treatment), he injured one of the staffers (big guy), and was committed to Butner. I got to the county mental health facility as fast as I could after I was notified at work, only to see him looking back at me from the back seat of a deputy's patrol car. Of course he was frightened, he didn't know what he had done wrong or why he was being driven away. It was 3 weeks later before I could see him in-person. There has to be a better way.

That's some serious bullshit right there. JLF has never been a good source on public policy, but Amy Cooke has turned it into a flaming bag of poop on the porch. Sheesh.
As a connoisseur of fine campaign merch, I must say I like this design a lot. Great word play alluding to both Dems' efforts to improve all lives and @CheriBeasleyNC's achievements as NC's first Black female chief justice. Gonna get me some. #ncpol https://t.co/8ODcndMUFN

NC Medicaid expansion gets serious attention from Senate GOP - bill being discussed would cover 600k people and include other health access provisions. Is there time, and are there votes in both chambers, to get bill to @NC_Governor by July? #ncpol https://t.co/pcLwZwkbcj

Whatever it takes, we need this badly. If they pass that, I will personally stop using the term "BergerMoore" for the rest of the year.

Suspend NC's gas tax and use surplus for roads?https://t.co/v1YVlJX5MK #ncpol #ncga
— North Carolina Tribune (@nc_tribune) May 23, 2022
Um, hell no. The gas tax isn't that much anyway, and that surplus needs to go towards Leandro before it goes towards anything else.
NC Republicans aren’t planning to rush to pass an abortion ban bill.
Why not? Two words: Roy Cooper

That is nothing short of brilliant. Either that or I am being starved of actual creative efforts...Nah, it's brilliant.
