This is a very big day in American politics. But just in case you've been living under a rock:
Polling consistently shows the two contests neck-and-neck, which isn’t surprising since the two races were pushed to a runoff after none of the four candidates got more than 50% of the vote on Election Day in November.
The stakes? Loeffler and Perdue pledge if they both win they will serve as a firewall in the Senate if Democrats fail to secure a majority, preventing a sweeping shift to Biden’s priorities to expand access to health care and increase efforts to control climate change. Ossoff and Warnock say they will back Biden’s agenda with two reliable votes. The runoffs have drawn unprecedented attention to Georgia with the rare prize of two difference-making U.S. Senate seats on the same ballot.
Remind you of anything? Like McConnell pledging to block everything Obama would try to do? That is, of course, another slap in the face to voters, but Republicans slap them so often their faces are numb.
Apparently #ncpol media still has no discovered the following:
-Asymptomatic transmission doesn't exist.
-PCR Cycle Threshold of 37 (NC uses this) produces more false positives than actual infections
-Rapid tests have an extremely high false positive rate as to be totally useless https://t.co/QrGcuP8BAZ

It takes an exceptionally ignorant person to still be making these "quit testing so much!" arguments in the face of this massive 2nd wave.
Where are the people who demand limited government when the GOP is threatening a federal takeover of states’ authority and former defense secretaries are warning against a military coup? https://t.co/IuYivEcc1a #NCPOL

If you're talking about Civitas, they are too busy (as usual) talking about more tax cuts to address something as paltry as a Constitutional crisis:
Whatever tax policy our leaders choose, it should be based on a clear understanding of the facts — not erroneous but widely repeated myths.#NCGA #NCPOL @CarolinaJournal @JohnHoodNC https://t.co/1AHejlLpz2

Quick reminder from John Locke:
Wherever law ends, tyranny begins, if the law be transgressed to another's harm; and whosoever in authority exceeds the power given him by the law, and makes use of the force he has under his command to compass that upon the subject which the law allows not, ceases in that to be a magistrate, and acting without authority may be opposed, as any other man who by force invades the right of another.
To stand idle in the face of a tyrannical President is to casually dismiss all of the ideals in which you (claim that you) hold dearly. Your integrity erodes daily, and so should your influence over public policy.
In part of Rep. Cawthorn's viral video, a list scrolls as he says it shows "thousands — yes, thousands — of recent instances of election fraud that has led to criminal convictions"
I found the list. It has under 1,000 cases and it goes back to 1948 #ncpol https://t.co/fx2FrPqO1B

Oh, lort. Y'all gonna have to hire a whole stable of fact-checkers if you want to keep up with this moron.

Don't expect me to listen in when you've got winners like this big-talking:

Yeah, it's a big joke, isn't it? *sigh*
In mid-December, Pacific Legal Group filed a lawsuit on behalf of Crystal and Kenneth Waldron and their business, Club 519, which has been shut down by Gov. Cooper’s Exec. Orders.
I’ll break down another similar lawsuit later this week. https://t.co/6EzW7VhTAa#ncpol

The Pacific Legal Foundation is a creation of the Sarah Scaife Foundation, and has vigorously fought against affirmative action policies since its inception, and has recently become an opponent of school diversity efforts (desegregation). Both of those main themes are racist in nature, but I have a feeling this particular case is a favor to one of the Koch Brothers bestest pals here in NC. This is not about helping bar owners, it's about eroding the powers of Governor Cooper, plain and simple.
NC's mainstream media outlets owe it to their readers to peel this onion and expose the partisan nature of this lawsuit, and not fall into the trap of focusing on the woes of the plaintiffs. They have no problem doing that when the SCSJ or SELC take up a case, and this demands the same level of due diligence.
Tonight, Trump is talking about E- integrity problems such as pollbooks being connected to the internet https://t.co/jCOUAgFoGr
This happens in Wake County, NC and .@bernstein_lynn
and I highlighted it here: https://t.co/DraiCMVzqa
We must address and fix problems #ncpol

And of course not a word about Trump threatening Georgia's Secretary of State to "find" 11,000+ votes that don't exist so Trump can steal the election. Naw, Trump's an election scholar, apparently.
I can't take any more of these people, here's your Onion:

It's both liberating and depressing...
