Thanksgiving Colors: Open Thread

Happy Thanksgiving! I'm off to the woods of Pennsyltucky tomorrow morning, so I wanted to wish everyone a happy turkey day and also leave you with a little color. This is a picture of Sharpies on paper that I took with my Blackberry.
Why? Well, the fact that they are mounted on a slide should give you a hint, more after the break.

Are you traveling this Thanksgiving season?

My iPod died yesterday, so this is going to be a really long car ride with no podcasts to distract myself!

Jesus Swept ticked me off. Too short. I loved the characters and then POOF it was over.

We are not traveling - never do on turkey day

We are, however, going to load our tractor onto a friend's trailer and go grade some land for them on Saturday. We plan to have football on, chili and homemade soup in our crockpots, beer in a cooler and lots of kids running around "helping."

They just live around the corner, so it isn't really that big of a trip. Just helping out a neighbor and throwing a party at the same time.

I miss those days of football and fun.

The kids are getting old enough now that I think they we'll be able to start playing football.

and beer in the cooler and kids running around helping. AWESOME!!!! :-D Have fun!

"They took all the trees and put them in a tree museum Then they charged the people a dollar 'n a half just to see 'em. Don't it always seem to go that you don't know what you've got till it's gone? They paved paradise and put up a parking lot."

Awww...bet you're really excited.

I know I would be.

That sounds great!

I always loved coming home at Thanksgiving to hang out with the family, eat well, and see my old friends.

Click for larger size.

Some of them look much better if you make them full size. I think it's pretty neat, but then again I did it! : )

Hahahaa!!!

Do you know my David? He told me to make sure the back of my car is empty so that he could put all his laundry in.

I have two brothers

and we were all in college at the same time. I came home with clean clothes and well.....they did not. :D

Have fun and be safe driving to G'boro today.

Heading to South Charlotte

AKA Rock Hill, SC to celebrate Thanksgiving with our daughter and her family. We'll leave as soon as we get home Wednesday evening and drive the 2 1/2 hours to their home.

This year WE won't have to cook anything (although I am doing a pumpkin pie and a chocolate cream pie) because Valencia and Mike want to do it all. So we'll bring the wine and follow them around assessing their every move and give unsolicited advice. Yeah, they'll love it, I'm sure they are both excitedly talking about us this very minute.

After we eat, we go for a walk around the neighborhood so we won't fall asleep on the couch. We'll watch football and some of us will play Scrabble or other board games and in spite of our long walks, some of us will still fall asleep on the couch.

We'll go Christmas shopping on Friday because you know, with the economy so bad, we'll be the only ones in the stores.....

Saturday we'll drive home and start putting up our tree and Christmas decorations. I love this time of year!

Sounds wonderful, Mo!

Unsolicited parental advice is what makes the world keep spinning on its axis, you know. Good luck with the shopping on Friday!!

Traveling Mercies, everyone.

I'm not traveling far ... just up the road to my brother's house, but my thoughts and prayers will be with you, Robert, and everyone else who is traveling.

I love Thanksgiving. My daughter is coming home from school, my son is bringing his girlfriend to Thanksgiving dinner (yay!!) and I can't wait to see all the nieces and nephews and brothers and sisters-in-law and Nan and Pop (my folks) and watch them all eating inside and playing outside. :) After Thanksgiving, the folks are headed up to Maryland to move my Nan home with them. She is 98. The kids and I can't wait to have her here.

I have missed you so very much

It sounds like you have a wonderful family holiday planned and I know the anticipation of your Nan coming back to live with family will make it that much more special.
