Teabaggers show true colors

Spitting on and hurling racial and homophobic epithets at Congressmen:

Demonstrators outside the U.S. Capitol, angry over the proposed health care bill, shouted "nigger" Saturday at U.S. Rep. John Lewis, a Georgia congressman and civil rights icon who was nearly beaten to death during an Alabama march in the 1960s.

Protesters also used a slur as they confronted Rep. Barney Frank, D-Mass., an openly gay member of Congress. Frank told the Boston Globe that the incident happened as he was walking from the Longworth office building to the Rayburn office building, both a short distance from the Capitol. Frank said the crowd consisted of a couple of hundred of people and that they referred to him as 'homo.' A writer for The Huffington Post said the protesters called Frank a "faggot."

My note to Burr

I continue to be struck by how little you've done in 16 years in Congress. Consider this an invitation to meet us at BlueNC to explain your record

You can write him too. Just click the picture in the upper right corner of your screen.

shame on you...

...for smearing the hundreds of thousands (if not millions) of patriotic Americans who are standing up for the American Constitution, as it is being shredded by the Democrats. Supposedly (we have only the shredders' word for it, as reported by the left-leaning McClatchy organization) someone used the N-word. On that flimsy basis you say that's the "true colors" of the Americans who oppose the Health Rationing Bill.

Well, that's utter nonsense, and a despicable smear, and I think you know it full well. I've been to several rallies against the Health Rationing Bill, and I never once heard anyone say anything racist. We chanted, "kill the bill," and "kill the bill, not the babies," but nobody ever used the N-word.

The American people are justifiably angry, and anger sometimes leads to misbehavior, but never justifies it. If someone shouted the N-word, then shame on them. But it was certainly unusual, if it really happened at all, which I doubt.

After all, the 3 supposed witnesses to it are all men who have proved their dishonesty by violating their oaths of office, and/or advocated doing so. What's more, the allegation doesn't ring true: those chants of "kill the bill" are loud, and if someone tried to insert the N-word while a "kill the bill" chant was going on, he probably wouldn't be heard except by the person next to him.

There have been thousands of rallies across America against this monstrosity, many of them with news crews in attendance, and to my knowledge nobody has ever managed to catch even one racist remark on tape at any of the rallies.

These days, the false cry of "racist" is the last refuge of a scoundrel.

Certainly not all

the opposition acted so shamefully, but the death panelers, communism fear-mongers, and some of the least reason based anti-health care reform arguments were also the loudest throughout the debate.

Dave, Dave, Dave

"I've been to several rallies"....."I never once heard anyone say anything racist." Either you have a different concept of racism than most do or you are deaf and blind. You are kidding, right? You haven't seen any of those racially motivated posters at those rallies, right? Who do you think you are kidding?

"The American people are justifiably angry", so to qualify as an American you have to be a tea bagger now? Is that how this works? Poor Dave, I saw a lot of happy Americans last night. Some Americans are angry today and some Americans are very happy today. You see Dave elections have consequences. Obama and the Democrats ran on health care reform, among other things, and we won big in November. Last night we delivered the first installment in HCR. Get over it. You will benefit from it too Dave. But hey, you and your ilk can run in November promising the American people to bring things like insurance rescission for pre-existing conditions back. Let me know how that works out.

Let me think, who is more believable, Dave or Representatives Lewis, Frank and Clyburn and other witnesses? I have to mull that one over, NOT.

"These days, the false cry of "racist" is the last refuge of a scoundrel." So the pictures like the one of Obama dressed as a witch doctor and widely distributed by the right wing and conservatives are not racist? I guess in your mind your guys were just being cute. Really Dave? Who's the scoundrel Dave?

One last thing Dave, you strongly feel that the HCR reform bill violates the Constitution? We had a couple of votes last night not a coup. Feel free to challenge it in court, they are still there after last night, and we look forward to that challenge. Some of us understand how constitutional democracies work. We also know what sour losers and hysterical people sound like.

NCDave4Life, People are

People are angry?

You didn't get angry and misbehave when Cheney allowed Energy company officials to dictate energy policy.

You didn't get angry and misbehave when a covert CIA operative got outed.

You didn't get angry and fearful of your freedom when the Patriot Act got passed.

You didn't get angry when we illegally invaded a country that posed no threat to us.

You didn't get angry and worried about fiscal responsibility when we spent over 600 billion(and counting) on said illegal war and still managed to send our troops into combat with poor equipment or sometimes no equipment.

You didn't get angry and talk about money when over 10 billion dollars just disappeared in Iraq.

You didn't get angry about the betrayal of American competence, ideals, or tradition when you saw the Abu Grahib photos.

You didn't get angry when you found out we were torturing people. (Read American competence, ideals, and tradition.)

You didn't get angry or worried about your freedom and take to the streets when the government was illegally wiretapping Americans.

You didn't get angry and worry about your freedom and safety when we didn't catch Bin Laden.

You certainly didn't get angry and take to the streets when you saw the horrible conditions at Walter Reed.

You didn't get angry when we let a major US city drown.

You didn't get angry and take to the streets when the deficit hit the trillion dollar mark.

This response could go on for pages. Turn off Fox. Turn off Rush. THINK for a minute or two.

A quote and a picture

It is an unfortunate human failing that a full pocketbook often groans more loudly than an empty stomach

That picture is sometimes true, and that quote is all too often true.

The captions are swapped

I think you've swapped the captions, Jake.

The Democrats/Lefties are the folks who object furiously to protecting defenseless unborn babies. They are the party of abortion and euthanasia, the people who object to the price of healing ill children. They're the folks for whom genocide provokes yawns.

The Republicans/Righties are the folks who consider every child precious, and who object to their tax dollars being used to kill. The Christian conservatives ("religious right" to you) are the folks who practice real love and compassion.

Is everything about abortion to you, Dave?

The pictures/captions are not about abortion. Why make them so? Sure, you have mentioned other things, but it is not hard to figure out abortion is your main issue.

There is little left to be said here on that issue, Dave. We know where you stand, you know where we stand (at least most of us..do not want to look like I am speaking for everyone, of course).

You appear to be too intelligent to allow your mind to be taken over by one issue.

The topic was killing people...

...and we live in a country that kills over a million of her people per year, by choice. In the history of the world, there are few examples of human slaughter on such a scale, and probably none on such a scale for such an extended length of time.

Trying to talk about killing people without mentioning abortion is like trying to talk about malnutrition without mentioning food.

The truth usually nails it and you spoke the truth.

Look at :46

At :46 to :47 you can see a sign with www.LaRouche.something on the bottom, depicting Obama with a Hitler-mustache. LaRouche, of course, is a Democrat, and former SDS radical.

Now, LaRouche is certainly not the typical Democrat, and it is not clear to me that he actually believes in anything except LaRouche, but it does serve to illustrate that, as usual, the nastiest politics is by Democrats.

(I'm surprised that NewLeftMedia, who posted that video, didn't edit that embarrassing snippet out. Oops!)

For the record: Although there are obviously a lot more LaRouche Democrats than racist Republicans visible in this Health Care debate, I do not claim that the LaRouchies are the Democrats showing their "true colors." I know that would not be truthful.

Another bagger patriot

Of the home grown variety

You're goddamn right I'm with the Tea Party. We're the last ones who actually give a shit about this country. We warned you about the Kenyan Hitler, but you didn't listen. We warned you about how he would destroy the country from within, but you didn't listen. He's taken our money, he's taken our cars, now he's taken our health care. Soon it will be our guns, our speech, our independence. Hussein won't need two terms. He'll get it all done in one if we don't STOP HIM NOW.

If I'm a small business owner, I fire everyone who works for me tomorrow. Tell them I can't afford it anymore with the bill being passed. If they want a job on Tuesday, they can come back for 50% of what they made before, since that's how much it's gonna screw me over. If you thought the unemployment rate was bad before, it's going to skyrocket now. If you thought it sucked just trying to get a job interview before, you won't even have anyone to read your resume now.

This is a declaration of war. From the liberal terrorists to us real Americans. They won't rest until the socialist states of America exists, and Mt. Rushmore is blown up in place of Karl Marx, Adolf Hitler, Keith Olbermann, and Hussein himself.

The lines were drawn tonight. Either you are with America or you are with the enemy.

Friends of yours, Dave?

Must be.

I don't know that guy, and don't want to.

But I am a friend of this guy. He's angry, too, as every American should be.

Well that explains everything

John Hood? You're actually bragging about being friends with John "the Stagemanager" Hood?

Ha! Very funny, Dave.

John Hood is my Hero says Dave!

But I am a friend of this guy. He's angry, too, as every American should be.*Dave

Good Grief Dave! You have got to get new heros if you think John Hood is angry and your good buddy. You do understand that John Boy has never had a real job in the world and has been a corporate welfare puppet for years thinking he will bring a Art Pope Republican Paradise to Downtown Chapel Hill......

How HCR got passed

You gotta LOVE it !

Baggers = GOP = POV

The Party of Violence

Around the country, the reaction to the House passage of the bill was emotional, and in some cases violent.

Representative Gabrielle Giffords, Democrat of Arizona, said that her Tucson office was vandalized following her vote in support of the measure. A glass door was shattered, she said.

Following a weekend when protesters outside the Capitol subjected some Democratic lawmakers to racial slurs and epithets, Representative Randy Neugebauer, a conservative Republican from Texas, said on Monday that he was the lawmaker who shouted “baby killer” on the House floor Sunday night. The shout was heard while Representative Bart Stupak, a Michigan Democrat, was discussing abortion-related provisions in the health care bill, and it was widely taken to have been directed at him.

Party of violence = the Abortion Party

Over a million innocents slaughtered each year, thanks to the Democrats & liberals, and you call someone "violent" who shouts out, "baby killer!?!"

Boy is that backward!

Never Met an Intelligent Racist

Can someone help me with this? Why is it when some illusive whacko uses the dreaded "N" word it becomes national news? Of course, I probably need to clarify this statement because I hear plenty of "N" words within rap songs as I drive around town. Personally, I've never met an intelligent racist and never will since none exist. Skin color has about as much effect on the content of one's character as hair and eye color. Not long ago, I had the privilege of working at an Historic Black University and was amazed how the University students had no idea why "older" folks make such a big deal about race. They just didn't understand what all the hub-bub was about. Let's face it, I don't even know if there are 100 of these illusive racists nationwide. They are a dying breed and are completely insignificant today with regards to the political landscape. Nobody cares anymore about what all 20 members of the KKK have to say. Nobody is listening to their nonsensical rubbish. But if one of them uses the "N" word, oh my God! Please... Give us a break!

I shouldn't need to answer this:

Can someone help me with this? Why is it when some illusive whacko uses the dreaded "N" word it becomes national news?

But I will.

It's news when that word is directed towards a United States Congressman who was beaten by whites almost fifty years ago for riding a bus, and later had his skull cracked by a cop for praying on a bridge.

For someone who claims to be a thinker, you're not doing a very good job of it.

Brillant Racists in the World?

Never Met an Intelligent Racist* nc Thinker

Well you have proven that you don't get out much in the real world or watch the History Channel. I am sure if you had met Hilter you would have been impress with his intellect on Race issues and his peaceful methods to solved this matter. However, I am sure if you had been on the OJ jury you would have convicted the fool for being a Black man in a white World. You still can contact OJ on the matter by simply writing him at the Copper State Prison of Nevada and ask him do the inmates still use the N word when addressing him as the biggest fool to come to Las Vegas looking for profit...

Maybe you should read the Jesse Helms Book " How I fool the Citizens of North Carolina as a Black Senator"

Rest My Case

Scharrison made my point. "Almost fifty years ago" is history to college aged students. Violence towards anyone, regardless of skin, eye, or hair color is simply violence and ought to be dealt with. As far as MadameJustice's comments, I don't know exactly how to respond other than to say Hitler was a narcissistic lunatic and OJ seems to have quite a few personal issues that I don't think have anything to do with the shade of his skin. Again, if Hitler and OJ are supposed to be examples of intelligence, then I'm afraid I'll have to disagree. Trust me, there is no such thing as an intelligent racist, regardless of your skin, hair or eye color. It is time for everyone to shed the ignorance of the past.

Tea Party = Violent Racists?

Perhaps I do put too high a premium on intelligence, as James says, but I want to make sure I'm understanding the intent of this post. The post is titled, "Teabaggers show true colors" which I take to mean that everyone associated with this group have merely been posing as ordinary citizens upset with the current direction of the federal government, but are "really" nothing more than violent closet racists until just recently. I'm not sure what force was behind the recent elections in Virginia, Massachusetts, etc.., but I think many of those that went out and voted probably associated themselves with the Tea Party movement. Does anyone think that all, or even a majority, of these folks we see on TV are violent racists? I'm having a hard time swallowing this one. The crowds to me look like something between a typical crowd one would see viewing a 4th of July parade and the residents of an old folks home. They look a lot like my neighbors and co-workers. I understand the need for the political establishment to do everything they can to try to "label" all these folks as radical extremists and crazy violent whackos, but the People have got to be smart enough to realize this in nothing more than a simple political smear campaign to ensure the status quo and maintain power for political expediency. Any Citizen of North Carolina that can't see through this intellectual sissyism needs to step away from the Kool-Aid and take a deep breath. Regardless of what one's ideology is, or whether or not one agrees or disagrees with the Tea Part folks, we certainly ought to all be smart enough to realize that there aren't enough violent racists in the entire world to fill a large room much less comprise a political movement strong enough to dictate the outcome of an election. Please...

The "true colors" revealed

by these people isn't (necessarily) that they are violent, but that they harbor prejudices that are mostly suppressed until their blood gets up.

Guns at TP Rallies?

Granted, I've never been to a Tea Party event to witness first hand what these rallies are like, but haven't seen any guns displayed on TV. I would think the media would jumped all over this had it been so. I suppose it would be legal to have guns present in certain locales, but when do you see guns displayed at TP rallies? Where they shooting the guns or merely displaying them?

Who cares whether they are shooting or on show.

No doubt you have never been to a Dog show where there is a lot of Dogs who couldn't care less about parading around for their Masters.

There were at least a couple

There were at least a couple of tea party protests this summer where participants displayed sidearms. I recall an extensive interview with one of them.

I'm a moderate Democrat.

Scared of Guns

"There were at least a couple of tea party protests this summer where participants displayed sidearms."

Again, I must be missing the issue. I see cops and plenty of others displaying sidearms all the time. If someone isn't threatening anyone or shooting, what's the big deal? They might as well been carrying shovels. What's all the paranoia about?

You're not missing the issue,

you're being intentionally obtuse in your never-ending quest for an argument.

Let me give you one more label to bemoan: Troll. Look it up, then look in the mirror.
