The NCGA ratified H1134, the bill to authorize and fund the cleanup of North Carolina's abandoned mobile homes, on Tuesday.

Its a great day. Now the next step is to get the word out to counties. Participation is voluntary for counties, but there is $1 million in funding authorized by the GA for remediation of these homes. DENR is going to distribute the money.
If you have driven by one of these hulks (and I drove by more than a few on a trip to Pinehurst yesterday) than you know what an eyesore they present. It is not the kind of problem that is easily solved.
