From time to time, a person will come across a situation that makes them think hard about life. For myself, that moment was today.
I was at work when a soldier came into the line. After he paid, he walked up to me and started to take his groceries. I saw that he had more bags then he could pick up on his own. I asked him if he needed any help, at first he said that he was fine, then as his arms got loaded up with bags, he asked me to hand him the last two. As I watched the soldier walk out of the store, I thought three things. One, what a wonderful country we live in. Two, how great our troops are for putting it all on the line every single day, and three, isn’t it amazing that our troops, though trained to deal with any situation imaginable, at times need some help.
Over the next three hours I hashed out a great idea for a novel that I will begin writing soon. I hope that once it is complete, all my fellow Blue NC readers will read it. Furthermore, I hope that all my fellow Blue NC readers will take this post to heart. Whenever you see a US Soldier, ask them if they need help with anything, chances are, even if they don’t, they will greatly appreciate you asking. Because after all, for all they do for us, this is the least we can do for them.
