Shuler in the news again

lllicitizen's blog on Heath's advising and extending his remarks using Genentech talking points is doubled down by the Smoky Mountain News this week reporting on more trouble with his dealings with TVA in East Tennessee.

I was reminded somewhere in the past couple of days of the old aphorism "If you tell the truth, you don't have to remember what you said." Seems the one-time NFL quarterback may suffer from some of the same trauma that other football players have had with repeated blows to the head. Heath just can't seem to recall events and conversations that are clearly documented and really beyond dispute.

He may be working from the political calculation that he has no real opposition in 2010, with the announced candidates so far to the right of him that we mountain Democrats will hold our noses this time and vote for him. But in his recent dealings and communications with Haywood County Democrats, he has given us little reason to knock on doors or hold signs or man phone banks. The anger is palpable at our HCDP meetings and in talking to activists and party faithful here around the county.

So if anyone at any of Heath's offices follow BlueNC, please convey to the Congresscritter that we're mad as hell, and we're not going to take it anymore. On the other hand, he might be able to win at least grudging support by supporting whatever health care reform comes out of the conference.
