Road Trip for Democracy on February 13th:

From Democracy NC:

The 4th annual HK on J Coalition Rally will be held in Raleigh on Saturday, February 13th. Our friends from the Durham NAACP NC Branch are sponsoring a bus to the festivities from Durham to Raleigh leaving at 8 AM. We hope you'll be aboard!

There’s nothing like a march to demonstrate the power of democracy, so feel free to bring the whole family!

If you’d like to ride the bus, it will depart at 8:00 AM on Feb. 13th from in front of the Durham Branch of the NAACP, located at 315 E. Chapel Hill St. Durham 27701. Each rider is being asked to pay $10 toward the cost of the bus, but scholarships are available from Democracy NC by calling Leigh at 919-286-6000. Free breakfast from Chick-Fil-A will be provided en route to Raleigh. Payments may be mailed to:

NAACP Durham Branch
Suite 206
315 E. Chapel Hill St.
Durham, NC 27701

You can also drop your payment off at the above address (2nd floor) from Monday thru Friday between 9:00 AM and Noon or pay by calling 919-682-4930 at any time.

If you'd rather provide your own transportation, the Rally will begin at 9:30 AM. This year's march will start at Shaw University in front of Estey Hall. See details here.

With the recent Supreme Court decision in the Citizens United case and major policy debates being driven by special interests, we need to let our elected officials know that the voices of the people matter more than ever.

Please join us and let’s make it an extra large turn-out this year! Democracy needs a boost!

HISTORIC THOUSANDS ON JONES STREET PEOPLE'S ASSEMBLY

RESCHEDULED TO SATURDAY, FEB 27TH

Earlier this morning I checked WRAL's weather for tomorrow and they said sunny with a high in the 40s, and now they've changed to highs in the 30s with possible flurries.

Given the supreme courts recklessness as the OP mentioned, but also with Wake's new school board's poor performance, and the GOP led efforts to get the League of Municipalities to move in an anti-choice direction... I expect there will be a lot of people on the streets for HKonJ.
