Hard work pays off

Robin Hayes lied. Nobody died, but thousands of folks lost their jobs.

Now really -

11,988 unique visitors.

I didn't visit that many times ...

did I?

;)

Unique

That's how many people saw the web cam in your bathroom. ;)

From MSNBC

In the House, GOP incumbent Robin Hayes spent heavily in a district that encompasses Kannapolis, N.C., the hometown of NASCAR great Dale Earnhardt. And the candidates in Georgia's 12th District spent big dollars in towns like Statesboro and the old ramblin' grounds of the Allman Brothers Band.

Looks like Flipper's been takin' lessons from the Puppetmaster. You're only as good as what you can buy.

My daughter

told me just now that Molly Ivins died today.

Candles for Molly.

"They took all the trees and put them in a tree museum Then they charged the people a dollar 'n a half just to see 'em. Don't it always seem to go that you don't know what you've got till it's gone? They paved paradise and put up a parking lot."

I knew that she was very sick.

I loved her. I hope she is with her good friend Ann Richards.

It sucks

Molly, I mean. Not the stats. Congrats everyone. This is awesome. Just wait until election time . . .

Emerging Issues Forum

The 2007 Emerging Issues Forum is this Thursday and Friday at NCSU's McKimmon Center. This year's theme is Transforming Higher Education.

The agenda is here. Although the keynote guests are usually personally invited by Governor Hunt, this year's bring a little controversy. Margaret Spellings speaks Thursday at lunch, Larry Summers speaks Friday.

I was on a workgroup that looked at the issue of "Educating All North Carolinians." Our report will be delivered Thursday morning.

If the weather is OK I'll be there both days. If I can get a wireless signal, I'll try to post a few times or even live blog for a while.

I hope Nancy Grace is making this up

She's talking about a rape victim denied the second pill of plan B. Apparently if you have an outstanding warrant and you get raped, be prepared to go to jail after your rape-kit. Then, don't be surprised if the prison supervisor denies you the second dose of Plan B because it's "Against my religion."

I'm starting to think that doctors, nurses, and prison supervisors should be charged with accessory to rape when they deny anti-conception medication. This is called forced pregnancy. Isn't that from an early 80s Margaret Atwood book?

Here's the story

from the St. Pete Times. Wonder what Molly would have to say about it all.

Snow Day

I just snuck in and turned the girls' alarm clocks off. Snow wasn't supposed to fall until after 7am. It's been falling for a while now. They will be so excited. Not so excited when their makeup day is on a Saturday. :)

NEED MORE INFO on that BlobPac Grant....

what does that mean for BlueNC?

No matter that patriotism is too often the refuge of scoundrels. Dissent, rebellion, and all-around hell-raising remain the true duty of patriots.

it looks like

something like 200 bucks for a year of hosting costs.
