If you're registered at BlueNC and were online this morning, you may have noticed that someone named Dan Blue III registered and logged in. I don't know if it was the real Dan Blue, but I hope it was. Why? Read on.
Blogging makes possible a whole new kind of interaction between We the People and the elected officials who work for us. Done right, it's a completely transparent system, with no-holds-barred, that's incredibly efficient and inclusive. Jerry Meek drew 131 comments in six days with his question: Who Should I Recruit To Run Against Elizabeth Dole? And upwards of 2500 people have seen some of that discussion since Monday.
Dan Blue has been around North Carolina politics for a long time - and now he's back on the stage. You can read a little about him here, and I suspect there will be a lot more Dan Blue news in the months ahead.
I don't know Mr. Blue and he may or may not be the person who registered here. But if he is, let me say this:
Welcome, Dan Blue. It's good to see you engaging the blogosphere. Thanks for stopping by.
Update: It occurred to me that this person might also be the son or the son of the son of Mr. Blue, in which case, welcome as well!
