NYT Dictates WH releases again

The NY Times says...

Deadliest Bomb in Iraq Is Made by Iran, U.S. Says
by (get this) link to article... for what it is worth
Michael R. Gordon
Yes, the same one who worked with Judith Miller to spread propaganda about Iraq in 2002 and 2003. The same "reporter" who released the story about the dreaded Aluminum Tubes and the re-starting of the late Saddam Hussein's WMD program.

And the Times goes with this guy? Seriously, this is nutty. Flip back through this guys headlines, here... they read like White House wet dream press releases.

Look for a spring launch of whatever it is they will call the war on Iran.

From the article... random quotes... "broad agreement among American intelligence agencies, although officials acknowledge that the picture is not entirely complete"

Hmmmm. Where have we heard this before? And what about those who do not agree? Are they quoted?

Well, surprise, surprise, surprise, as Gomer Pyle would have said.

We are just supposed to trust this report from this guy.

Not me. How about you?

Gomer Pyle?

Man...you're as old as I am.

I also noticed in a Newsweek article from last week that Cheney slipped in an ominous warning about Iran and it seemed to come out of nowhere in the article. Of course, I'm not privy to the entire interview. I'll see if I can find it. Maybe we need to collect all references to Iran and see if it's another lame attempt by this lame administration to ramp up the public's fear of all things Iran.

Robin Hayes lied. Nobody died, but thousands of folks lost their jobs.

Vote Democratic! The ass you save may be your own.

Lou Ann Poovey

aka Gomer's girlfriend lives about a mile from me. She's a lot older than I am, so you know she is a senior. Her actual name is Elizabeth McRae. Yep, Gomer is a while back.

I am guessing that Gomer is just about

ready for a sequel.

Surprise, surprise, surprise is just too good a TV line to let lay fallow.

And, oh yeah. I am old.

Collecting articles on Iran

that is exactly what I have been doing! I had a bunch more but the computer broke and I lost them. Here are some I've collected since...

Rolling Stone: Iran the Next War

Times online: Revealed: Israel plans nuclear strike on Iran

The New Yorker: The Iran Plans

Haaretz.com: Iran: If Threatened, We May Alter Opposition to Obtaining Nukes

WashingtonPost.com: Lost In The Middle East

No matter that patriotism is too often the refuge of scoundrels. Dissent, rebellion, and all-around hell-raising remain the true duty of patriots.

Crying wolf

This is why you don't cry wolf. People don't know whether Iran is a threat or not, but when you say it, they choose not to believe!

Simple as that. . .

War is over if you want it.

Britain's role in IEDs

This story goes back to before 2005 when Britain accused Iran of supplying IEDs to Iraqi insurgents.

Evidence points to Britain as a primary source of IED know-how. The IRA used IEDs in the 1990s in Northern Ireland and it is likely that the technology passed directly from the IRA to Hezbollah, other Palestinian groups and other terrorist groups worldwide. In fact in the early 1990s, in a misguided covert operation, the British Army helped the IRA develop the IED technology and tactics now being used to such deadly effect in Iraq.
