New and improved?

Notice how I left out the

"dead or alive" part out? That's the new, kinder gentler me shining through!

Nice, heh?

Very Nice!

Add the Elderly and Poor and it's perfect. We need to let them know just how many people got abused with this budget. I will add it to my blog! (on my bandwidth of course)

I needed atonement.

Maybe some version of this could be our organizing principle for February? Load it up with some of your wonderful facts. List at least our website. Maybe a few others.

Push it out there as far as we can? Get it on the listserve circuit?

Then take a deep breath and do it again. Or something different. See what works.

And again. And again.

All the way to November.

I love "the gang of six" . . . very great!

I decided to follow your lead and leave out the

bad language. I think using this is a great idea! I sent an email to the Governor to ask if there were any immediate plans to take action on the new budget in NC. I asked several questions. I'll let you know if/when I hear back. I'll call Malcolm Graham tomorrow and see if the NC Senate has any discussions going on yet. This is just a revised edition of the budget passed in December, so some of this stuff may already be in the works.

Great work. I did some organizing of contact names today and will start getting phone and fax numbers tomorrow.

This is great

Thanks for putting this together. I like SD's suggestions about adding the elderly and poor. Anglico, which sites did you have in mind? NC Policy Watch would be a good candidate. Needless to say, I think adding BlueNC is a good idea. :)

I spend a fair amount of time with Photoshop. I think the poster is effective in its current form, but if there was something in particular that you wanted, I may be able to help. Great work!

Great job.

I have a suggestion. Once upon a time I put together a mailing list of every single Democratic County Chair. Some of them bounced, some of them have been replaced, but I'm sure they are all still active Democrats. Perhaps we make this into a two-sided flyer with information on the back and email it to all the chairs, asking them to forward it along to their precinct chairs?

Just a thought.
if you want the list of people email me at peterson AT med dot unc dot com

Jesus Swept ticked me off. Too short. I loved the characters and then POOF it was over.

Southern Dem says she may be able to dig up some facts about this gang of six. I love the idea of adding those fact on to a flyer that would tell the whole story behind the sorry job the Gang is doing representing real people here in North Carolina.

I think she's also working on distribution lists too.

SD: Can you contact Robert and add his lists to yours?

I like this idea

The software running this website has the ability to maintain mailing lists. I'll work on figuring out how that works today if someone can take a look at Robert's list and see what needs updating.

I sure can...

Right now I'm working on contact lists for every major daily in NC, the weekly papers (because quite frankly we need to reach these smaller communties) and other major NC news sources.

We also need contact information for all of the major PACs, political organizations/clubs/committees and local elected officials. The more we can do by fax, email and phone the less expensive this will be.

Producing a flier will be very pricey. We also may have problems with copyrights for the pictures on the poster. We need to be careful here with any mass distritution of the piece other than posting on personal blogs and linking to the story. If they are file photos can we use them without worrying about violating copyright?

I emailed my Mel Watt (my rep) and encourage each of you to do the same. I asked him how he felt the new budget would impact North Carolinians and I asked for specifics. If everybody can do this with a quick email today (even if your rep is a Republican) and leave a message I will start contacting the rest.

Remember to be nice and thank them for their service to our country.(Even if it hurts to say it!)

Such a diplomat!

You must be in the diplomacy business . . .

Thanks for the nudge on contacting reps. Will do.

PS I don't think we need to actually produce (print) anything. Let's just go viral with pdfs and links. All the images on this poster are from official government websites . . . which means the were presumably paid for with taxpayer dollars.

we should do the Dems in state House and Senate

as well. The Medicaid cuts are going to change state to state - we need to provide a strong example for the rest of the country.

Anglico...had a big DUH moment

We can order a press package from each candidate. We', right? The press package should also have photos that can be used. They have no control over the purpose of the use I think. I will see if I can order one and see if it asks my paper affiliation.

Got advertising?

Maybe you could turn this little flyer into a beautiful piece of art and we could run it as an "ad" here on BlueNC . . . and maybe get other sites to carry it as well. I'm happy to pay for it to run here if we could link it to a brilliant diary filled with facts from Southern Dem's treasure trove.

Just a thought.

Great minds!

A, I was downstairs thinking just that. My fear is that the pictures would be large enough...but if someone is talented enough to produce a flash ad then it could run through all six pictures....I have ZERO html talent.

Quick . . .

Call the advertising department!

Wise counsel

I found this commentary out there on the internets and it seemed worth sharing. I can see making this issue the focus of our March campaign.

The gang of six are abusing disabled kids and the elderly this month. Next month we'll put them in their own custom-tailored chickenhawk suits.
