NC-08: Kissell Pushes Back with Class

First-time candidate, Larry Kissell, continues to set the standard. This time he's shown how to push back against negative attack ads - especially in a market that is already weary of them and wary of their messages. View Larry's new ad and see what you think. It's just Larry being Larry.

This isn't a long diary and I'm sorry for that. The new numbers from yesterday have provided a new source of energy and I don't know anyone who isn't busting their butts on the ground or on the phones.

Thanks for your patience over the next few weeks as the diaries are fewer and further between.

Larry Oh Larry!

It's just about moves me to tears to imagine a Congress filled with people like Larry Kissell instead of Flipper Hayes.

I really do hope Hayes goes hard negative. It will backfire so bad he won't know what hit him. People are starting to know who Larry is and what he stands for. If Hayes goes after him, it'll just prove how out of touch he really is.

Larry Impresses

Everybody who met him last night at Brad's fundraiser thought he was wonderful....and he is.

BTW

He gave The Southern Dem a ton of credit for his success and she has been wonderful. Wouldn't any candidate love to have her on his/her team?

Larry should give SD credit

That's the kind of man he is, gives credit where it's due! And we certainly know how hard SD has worked her fingers to the bone for him.

To be fair though, Kissell is the kind of Representative that deserves the support that SD has given and all of us here at BlueNC (I hope) are behind him all the way!

No matter that patriotism is too often the refuge of scoundrels. Dissent, rebellion, and all-around hell-raising remain the true duty of patriots.

Have to echo A's post too

Congress filled with Larry Kissells, Heath Schulers, Roger Sharpes, etc, etc...honest, listen to their constituents, willing to fight for the common good! It still scares me after '04, too much hope right now could lead to serious depression if things go bad....(for me anyway). Still, hope is good, but working like their behind in the polls is the right tactic!

Trading Places?

TRADING PLACES? Amid bleak national mood and local anxiety over textile job losses, Democrats see rising opportunity for challenger Larry Kissell to knock off Republican Rep. Robin Hayes in North Carolina. White House hopeful Edwards prepares to stump for Kissell, after Bush administration textile official appears with Hayes and briefs industry executives on efforts to stop “illegal goods.”

First comment...

The only problem I'm having with the Majority Watch polls released yesterday is the drastic difference between the North and South sections of District 8.

I may be reading it wrong, but it's showing just how much more hard work we have to continue on with in my home county of Cabarrus, and Mecklenberg, Stanly and Montgomery.

Regardless, it has me very excited and even more motivated, I only wish my work schedule would allow me to be in attendance at the rally tonight. I look forward to more regular commenting, and an end to my lurker days here at BlueNC.

It's Stanly and Cabarrus. Hayes has never won more than two precincts in Mecklenburg. If you only knew how many boots were on the ground in this county. It is mind boggling. Some of the finest folks doing the organizing too. I've been able to give a few contact names and then I just get out of the way b/c they are amazing.

Vote Democratic! The ass you save may be your own.

Orange County is with you...

Christopher-
The Orange County Dems recently completed making 2500 voter ID calls to Cabarrus Dems and Indys. Next, we are making 850 phone calls to Cabarrus Dems who voted in 2004 but not 2002. So, we're trying to turn your neighbors out! We'll also be sending volunteers down for the Cabarrus canvassing day on Saturday, October 21.

If anyone from Orange wants to pitch in, email me at jagmeyer(at)earthlink.net

WooHoo Christopher

Thanks for coming out and posting, good first imho too! Look forward to hearing more from you!

So glad that Kissell addressed

Hayes distortions. Larry handled it well! He's such a gentleman, unlike "I hate puppies" Hayes!

at good targets. Glad to hear about the support of folks on the ground. Keep up the good work.
