Message from Harry Taylor

Here’s a message from Harry Taylor:

I’m Harry Taylor, and I’m running for Congress.

By now you have probably seen the video of me standing up to George Bush in Charlotte a year and a half ago. And you know that in Congress, I will stand up for values that matter to you.

Here’s how I line up with my opponent on some of the most important issues we face as a nation:
On Iraq:
I opposed the invasion of Iraq from the beginning and support the withdrawal of our troops as well as renewed focus on diplomacy in the region.
Rep. Sue Myrick:
Supports the Bush Administration’s occupation of Iraq in their endless war.

On Healthcare:
I support access to health care for all Americans and believe that no American should face financial ruin due to medical crisis.
Rep. Sue Myrick:
Voted against SCHIP (children’s health care), and refused to override Bush’s SCHIP veto on two additional votes.

On the Environment and Energy Independence:
I support the development of renewable energy and efficiency initiatives to replace our reliance on carbon; I’m calling for a moratorium on new coal-fired power plants.
Rep. Sue Myrick:
Voted to provide billions in tax breaks for big oil and gas firms.

On Civil Liberties and FISA:
I oppose Bush's warrant-less wiretapping of American citizens and immunity for telecom companies who broke the law.
Rep. Sue Myrick:
Voted for increased surveillance of Americans without warrants.

On the Economy:
I stand for fiscal responsibility; restoration of sound economic policy and spending practices; fair trade policy that protects American jobs and development of green industries and manufacturing.
Rep. Sue Myrick:
Supports George Bush’s tax cuts for the wealthiest citizens while spending $10 billion dollars per month in Iraq.

I was recently struck by this quote from Dr. Martin Luther King :
“Our lives begin to end the day we become silent about things that matter.”

I refuse to be silent.

At noon on Tuesday, February 26th, I’m filing for Congress. But I need your help to get to the finish line.

I try to avoid the candidate fundraising pleas

unless they're attached to good information. I think this qualifies. Go Harry, Go!

Robin Hayes lied. Nobody died, but thousands of folks lost their jobs.

Vote Democratic! The ass you save may be your own.

great going Harry

Best of luck taking on Sue Myrick! What is this, her 99th term? Seems like she's been there for ever, sigh.

follow the money

And she said she would term-limit herself

She handed Harry a golden goose that says, "I, Sue Myrick, cannot be counted on to keep my word."

Throw in Sue's sleazoid dealings with her money laundering ad agency and you have a person who simply can't be trusted.

Harry, I am sending my best wishes

as well as some money your way due to the fact that you would make a great Representative from our lovely State, and Sue certainly does not capture that ideal at all.

North Carolina. Turning the South Blue!

North Carolina. Turning the South Blue!

Thanks Harry!

For refusing to be silent.
We're with you; and to prove it I dropped you some change for change.

Thanks much, Harry!

I'm looking forward to seeing Rep. Harry Taylor in action on the House floor. Mecklenburg County deserves someone who will stand up and speak his mind.
