McCrory's idea of a successful public-private partnership?

THATSRACIN.COM is reporting that the NASCAR Hall of Fame in Charlotte lost $1.6 million in 2012.

The NASCAR Hall of Fame is a $200 million public-private partnership, funded by occupancy and meal taxes through the Charlotte Regional Visitors Authority (CRVA). It was a centerpiece of Pat McCrory's tenure as Charlotte mayor. As Deputy Assistant Governor, McCrory wants to extend this public-private partnership model to economic development across the state. Why exactly is that a good idea, except for those who end up with the money?

It's not like NASCAR...

...is losing money????

You're right, USNA77

It's more like the people of North Carolina are losing money.

Why this is a good idea

Mr. Pope says so!

Maybe not

I'm not sure even Art Pope would have gone along with the old Pat McCrory on something like this NASCAR scheme.

I wonder if Mr. Pope ever has a moment of panic or doubt when he accidentally drops his guard and stares at the horror show ongoing in Raleigh? Because if he doesn't have such moments, he's an even bigger creep than I thought.
