Kissell Campaign Events - Find One Near You

There are a few fundraisers coming up for Larry Kissell that I hope you will be able to find time to attend. Robin Hayes is running scared, so we need to keep the pressure on by helping Larry raise lots of money this quarter.

Also, if any other Democratic candidates have fundraising events coming up, please post in the comments and I'll update this post to include your event. I would like for our candidates to get front page attention. Maybe we can do something at the beginning of every month.

June 10 The first event on the calendar is being held at the lovely home of our own James Protzman and Jane Brown in Chapel Hill. It is scheduled for June 10 from 4:00 to 6:00pm. Please call 910-428-4048 for reservations.

June 15 The second fundraiser will be held in Albemarle at the Rosebriar Restaurant on June 15 from 5:30 to 7:30pm. It is being hosted by M.W. (Bill) Mullinix, Sr. The restaurant is located at 528 Wiscassett Street. Suggested contribution $25. Please call 910-428-4048 for reservations.

June 21 The third event on the calendar is scheduled for June 21 in Mt. Gilead. It will be held from 5:30 to 7:00pm at Woodrun on Tillery Clubhouse and is being hosted by Frances and George Reaves. Reservations are required for this event. Please RSVP to Selene Hofer-Shall at 910-428-4048.

June 22 The final event I have on my calendar is scheduled for Friday, June 22 in Concord at the home of Leanne Powell and Drew Arrowood. Suggested contribution $25. It is located at 28 Miller Avenue, SW and will be from 5:00 to 7:00pm. Please call 910-428-4048.

I know I will be attending the fundraiser in Concord and hope to attend the fundraiser in Albemarle as well.

Please leave a comment below if you are a candidate (or represent a candidate) and you have an event coming up this month.

I still don't know, A

I'm trying, but there's still so much to do at the house. Of course, first showings are tomorrow, so it may be sold by then.

Bwahahahahaha

june 10th regrets

I was absolutely planning to come - have written my check and everything - but my mother is arriving at 5 pm and will need a wheelchair and a lot of assistance. I was hoping she would arrive earlier so I could stash her at the Carolina Inn for an hour and come by. You have a lovely home - was there last year to meet Larry - and I hate missing out.

My mom is a Texas Republican and I was dreading the visit - I have refused to go to Texas until Bush is gone from the White House (Yes, I know it is petty but I can't bear to be around people there.) So I haven't seen her since my dad died in 2004 and she misses her grandson, now 8(and a terrible Bush hater). I find she doesn't want to talk politics anymore though - so it may be a pretty calm visit.

Of course, this does not mean that I haven't lined up some dvds for her entertainment: Inconvenient Truth, Farenheit 9/11, etc....

You're a good daughter :)

family duty

I wouldn't say I am a good daughter, because I haven't found a way to engage my mother in any meaningful positive discussion of politics in my whole(50+ years) life. She is your basic authoritarian follower - really afraid of the world, lives in the same small town where she grew up. She is not a bad person, and tries to be tolerant and kind, but her fear keeps her defending those who actually fuel her fears.

My son is unfortunately one of the most outspoken kids I ever met. I would say he is my clone, but we adopted him from China, so I suspect his grandparents were Red Guards in the Cultural Revolution. I have reminded him that his grandma loves him, even though her ideas about the government are not ours, so I hope they can find a middle ground. She is thinking of teaching him to play bridge - he is 8 but extremely bright, so she might have a chance. Failing that, I will just send her to a lot of movies with him.

I think she meant the DVDs/

That reminds me, our thank you gift to my parents for watching the kids for two days last trip (so we could spend a night at the William Penn in Pittsburgh, was An Inconvenient Truth. Wonder if mom has made Dad watch it yet?

Jesus Swept ticked me off. Too short. I loved the characters and then POOF it was over.

Draft Brad Miller-- NC Sen ActBlue

"Keep the Faith"

You all totally Rock! Miller, Kissell, Dem's in general!

Being a travelling consultant, it's really hard for me to schedule time in the Reality"o'Sphere to meet and get to know the candidates. I have to keep taking you good people's word for it and continuing to lend a hand to the campaigns with phone calls and filling out and mailing post cards. And donating, of course. It is the very least I could do to assist our lovely State become smart, friendly, caring and business-like again.

I'm really looking forward to meeting y'all, or at least some of you at an event soon. I'm keeping my eyes open for a date that works.
