I don't know who knows what, so thought I would update ya'll on some things that are not for public consumption, but I feel you should know.
This much is public. Larry Kissell won the DCCC contest for engaging the most volunteers last week/Saturday when the campaign put together the different activities. Each time someone signed up to phone that was a volunteer, each time someone attended the canvassing on Saturday here in Charlotte, that was a volunteer. They signed people up at every event/function they had last week and won.
So, what did Larry win? The DCCC will send a fundraising email out to their entire email list for Larry. Hundreds of thousands of emails. That should bring in quite a bit of money right before the end of the reporting period.
These messages should not go beyond this group. Tami Vogel (Working for Change) knows all of this, but only the campaign staff knows beyond that. (James might now a bit of it after his dinner with the JRE.)
1. On top of the DCCC fundraiser, Rahm Emanuel has pledged to send a letter/email to his personal group to help raise money for Larry. That will happen sooner rather than later.
2. Supposedly, Larry will be added to the Red to Blue list at the DCCC site.
3. Artur Davis has pledged to contact all of the PACs to encourage them to contribute to Larry. (At sometimes $10,000 a pop that could add up.)
4. John Edwards has said he will do an event with Larry. They are shooting for October 13 (the Kissell campaign is), but this has to come from the Edwards camp and they haven't decided on a date or made the announcement. We absolutely do not want to leak this, but I've known for over a week and it's been killing me to share. Plus, since it's the Friday before Converge South I wanted ya'll to have a chance to put it on your calendars.
5. Larry is going to win.
Love to you and yours....:)
Somebody needs to check on Targator. Last I heard he had an accidental meeting with a guardrail. I'm worried about him.
