The US Senate today fought off an amendment that would sustain the principle of habeus corpus as a foundation of our nation's rule of law. The Republican Party has officially rebranded itself as the Party of Torture.

In five short years, a country that was once a beacon of integrity in the world has sold its soul to the dark side and abrogated its moral responsibility. It takes every ounce of will I can muster to stop myself from wishing that the people who support this horrid policy will one day find themselves incarcerated for decades and tortured within an inch of their miserable lives.
