One of our bloggers posted a picture today that was inappropriate. I don't know if the writer knew the photograph was of you and your family, but in any case, I have deleted it.

We are a big tent here at BlueNC, and we allow wide-ranging discussion. But we are not in the business of attacking people and their families. We are in the business of fighting for progressive government.

When people have a voice, then people have a voice.
We could censor who is allowed to post here and moderate all comments, but that isn't Democratic or democratic.
It is the way things are done at places like Bill Frist's blog. And, of course our competitors don't even allow comments. The right to free speech is more important to us than it is to them, and sometimes that gets messy.

I am responsible for the posting of the images. I am not anonymous. My name is Greg Flynn. I was not aware from the information available to me who the people in the photograph beside Willie Ray were.
My point in juxtaposing the photographs was to show how appearances can be decieving and how two people, vaguely similar in appearance in vaguely similar poses could hold diametrically opposite views of the world.
This was in no way intended as a personal attack on Willie Ray or his family and I do apologize for any offence taken. It was intended to draw attention to Willie Ray's political positions. I realize people don't see things the way I do. That is why I blog and share my opinions.
I have no connection with any political campaign and you can see from my other posts I will make harsh observations about Democrats and Republicans alike.
I believe we have said enough.
This is obviously a mistake, one that we took care of right away. But, please, let's not act like Republicans are above reproach. Anyone remember this?

Greg made a mistake and we cleaned it up.
The pictures posted here show purposeful destruction of good people by Republican extremists. I don't see them as an attempt to justify anything whatsoever.
In fact, I see the pictures as a reminder of whom we're dealing with. It's just like John Hood dragging my family and my work into his column the other day.
Maybe the pictures should have been on another thread, but they are where they are. I've apologized enough for one day.
First.
Posting pictures of family is off-limits.
One mea culpa was enough.
Second, I'll treat the Republican party like people when they start acting like it. It's fine to post an apology, but let's not get all slobbery over people who would take away every right you hold sacred in a second!!! I posted those pictures so that everyone will remember that it is not some poor little ol' Granny in Benson that was wronged here, it's part of the vast neocon machine that seeks to turn our country into a freaking Aristocracy.
