Dear John,

I just knew you wouldn't let me down. I couldn't believe my eyes when I saw you had left Larry Kissell off the list. I was certain it was an oversight but my good friend Anglico called your staffer and was assured it was not.

I'm sure you can imagine how that made me feel, right? That may be one of the shortest breakups in history. I'm glad we're back together. Thanks for adding Larry to the list.

Now, you go on out there and fight poverty big guy and I'll just sit myself down and draw more hearts on your pictures.

The Southern Dem

I personally want to thank

Greg, Anglico, Robert, Momoaizo and everyone else who went to OAC and MyDD and who posted here. Larry Kissell has now been added to the list and hopefully I'll get to vote again. If not...I'm sure someone else will vote for Larry for me.

I am sick and tired of being expected to just sit and take what's dished out - whether it is coming from a Republican or a respected Democrat like John Edwards. If you aren't willing to stand up for what you truly believe and to do so with passion and without regard to whether one or two people might be offended by the way you chose to act (within legal and certain moral limits of course ;)) then you aren't ready to win the battle to re-take Washington.

It's nice to think that the Republicans are in their final throes, but I'm not willing to sit down and wait to see what happens in November. I will kick, claw and scream to make things happen in the only way I know how. Larry Kissell is willing to stand up and take the crap for us and by God, I'm willing to take a little for him too.

If you don't like what I write, then please, don't read my posts. I don't mind critcism and I'll admit when I'm wrong. I'm also going to dance a friggin' jig when I'm right. This time I was right.

Consider the jig danced.

Nope, we love them all

We've recently started a citizens journalist project that will result in interviews (if they respond) with every Democrat running for the NC House, NC Senate and US House. Please register and sign up to help. It's an overwhelming amount of work.

Speaking of which...I owe Bill Glass, NC-09 an email with an interview attached....and Mel Watt.

As far as promoting them for something like the One America project, Larry reached out to the netroots way back in December of last year. He has been very active communicating with us. I didn't jump on the bandwagon until April, but others had earlier. We are doing our best to get to all the candidates, but they have to take a certain amount of responsibility for jumping up and down, waving their arms and getting their own message out.

Mission Accomplished

That's great - a little friendly pressure, and Larry made the list. But let's not stop just yet, We need John to actually come and campaign for Larry. The free press alone would be a big help.

Remember when

Hilary Swank won the Oscar and forgot to thank her husband? Then, in the press conference, she had to tell the reporters how much she thanked her husband?

I think Edwards pulled a Swank.

Bush Economy

Well...he did the right thing

....and that's what matters.

You're right

and that's what a Swank embarrassing public screw up that you make right.

Bush Economy

Thanks Senator Edwards!

Great News!!!

Well done all around. Senator Edwards' appreciation for the people powered politics at BlueNC and in the 8th is welcome attention from national politicians who too rarely seem to notice the efforts of the grassroots.

Go John. Go Larry.

History of the pennies in donations

Back when the netroots was in its early growing stage, the idea came up to add $0.01 cents to all donations so that campaigns would "know" it canme from the netroots. It was designed as a way to spread the power of the netroots. In 04, it was changed to $0.04.

However, with the advent of ActBlue and the acceptance of the netroots, candidates now know who is giving donations from online and who they collect donations from at the local mall.

So, while everyone can feel free to add $0.06, it is pretty common across the internet and not just this site.

Just FYI.

Jesus Swept ticked me off. Too short. I loved the characters and then POOF it was over.

Good Job

To SD and Edwards. Johnny has always been my choice for prez, but I also am a little biased to UNCLaw alumni. And I always admired his willingness to bring up the "P" word during the last campaign; he was even not too scared to be called the "L" word ("P" word is "poverty" and "L" is liberal in this context)

I also think Edwards is right in bringing up the "p" word. There is nothing exciting about fighting poverty unless you really look at the big picture. I not only think Edwards sees the big picture, I think he probably knows the way to get there. Much of what is wrong with the world/our country could be tackled more easily if fighting poverty was a top priority.

Poor Larry

You all are ungracious in "victory". In hope Larry Kissell knows how his supporters have painted John Edwards and has the grace to be embarassed. Were I Larry, again, to whom my hubby and I have contributed, I would shrink in embarrassment knowing how you, his "supporters" have behaved all over the internet. Candidly, if he isn't embarrassed by you all, he shouldn't be running for public office.

Nan, relax

This really hasn't been my debate, but I've been casually reading. To be as offended as you are, you'd have to take everything said and unsaid in this discussion in its worst possible light. I'll bet that's not how you go through life, so why the outrage here?

Painting with a pretty big brush there Nan

BlueNC is an open community where any registered user can post. The postings are the work of any one particular blogger. The broader community is then allowed to weigh, such as how you have just done. We are even nice enough to allow comments without registration.

That said, I think that sarcasm can be a subtle art, but seldom is on the internet. Did you notice the Rolly Fingers mustache? Come on. Sarcasm, theatrics, anything to get a rise.

But keep reading. Hopefully you can hold back your digust of photoshopping Edwards enough to enjoy our other great content, such as this post from Congressman Brad Miller.

Point taken

TarGator and Larry...
I do need to chill, I concede that point. I am so pro Edwards, and I mean that in all sincerity, that I would move mountains for him.

I have been volunteering for him since 2003, I was living in OK at the time, talk about an uphill battle, that I am used to fighting!

I'll say again, I hated that picture, he is so not the Devil, I guess now I should just chill and let the process work.

Best wishes to Larry Kissell, as I said, my hubby and I donated and if we could, we would vote for him but he isn't in our district.

It's all good for us to work it through, ya know? We can argue and discuss and at the end of the day, we're on the same team.

Thanks for listening. Best of luck to Larry.

Great Nan.

I think we can do great things together for Larry and for the Senator.

I appreciate the photoshops

AND, honestly, I liked the minor dustup over them just as well.

Much love to all who wrote, called, blogged to get Kissell on the OAC list. All that happened because of (as SD pointed out to one commenter) passion - EMOTION. I have the same great feelings about Kissell I had about Edwards when he started campaigning for Pres back in 2003. Both of these guys are my kinda people, they speak to my kinda people, and it's so great to see all the interest and excitement and passion they both engender in people. It's beautiful.

I started a lengthy comment on why I think the dustup up was a great thing, but lengthy turned into novella and i had to turn it into a blog post. :)

"They took all the trees and put them in a tree museum Then they charged the people a dollar 'n a half just to see 'em. Don't it always seem to go that you don't know what you've got till it's gone? They paved paradise and put up a parking lot."

Thank you Leslie

Sometimes we raise the level of discussion and sometimes just the level of the noise. It isn't a bad thing to see the extent of passion felt on both sides. Not a bad thing at all.
