Climate Change and North Carolina's Energy Future

Please join us Tuesday, Oct 7 @ 7:00pm at the Carolina Inn on the Davidson College campus (215 North Main Street, map) in Davidson, NC for an indepth discussion on energy efficiency and the steps North Carolina can take to move our state toward a clean energy future.

The Carolina Inn is located on the west side of Main Street in Davidson between Griffin Street and Depot Street. Parking is available on Main Street. We will have signs on campus directing you to the event.

Please RSVP if you haven't already and see you there!

Every business, community group and individual can lead by implementing energy efficiency programs. This discussion group is to bring together folks interested in discussing climate change in the context of North Carolina's energy use. Local examples of public policy and action will be highlighted. Guest Speakers include: John Wilson, Cornerstone report author; Anne Jackson, US Green Building Council of Charlotte; David Holthouser, Director of Physical Plant at Davidson College.

Thanks! CCAC is hosting a four week discussion series this month on the four "cornerstones" to a clean energy future in NC. So if folks can't make this event next Tuesday, they will have an opportunity to join other discussion topics throughout the month. I will post more details later, but here's a summary (all events are from 7:00pm-9:00pm):
Oct 7 - Energy Efficiency, Davidson College
Oct 14 - Clean Energy and Clean Fuels, UNC Charlotte
Oct 21 - Pollution Capture, Central Piedmont Community College, Harris Campus
Oct 28 - Long-range Planning, Sterling Elementary (you can take the new LYNX lightrail from uptown Charlotte to this event).

Blog it?

What would it take to have some or all of the proceedings take place concurrently on the internet - or as Ted Stevens would say:

Can you put it on the Tubes?

Seriously. Maybe even take questions from the World At Large?

Doubts about Dole?

Love the idea!

We are a very small organization with only 2 full time staffers at the time. I don't know what it would take... and not sure that we have the resources available to us right now. But I love the idea and will keep it in mind for future events. We're hosting a Climate Conference in Feb 09 - I'll look into the possibility of getting that "on the Tubes".

Thanks for your comment!

PS please let me know if you know someone who can help with this kind of thing.
