Bring Markos and Jerome to North Carolina

The Book Tour for Jerome Armstrong of MyDD and Markos of DailyKos is getting organized. However, North Carolina is not on their schedule. They are asking for recommendations on where to go at their website above, and I sent them an e-mail about coming to the Triangle. They are asking that when people send them suggestions on destinations that they include a specific event, so I am putting it to our readers to:
1) Come up with some event that Markos and Jerome can come speak at;
2) Leave a comment here telling us your idea; and
3) Get e-mailing them.

Targator, I need help

I will send an email, but I need to know if there's an event in the Triangle to mention. I would travel to see them. Charlotte isn't the right place, I don't think.

There are enough progressive bloggers in NC, you'd think we could come up with some type of event for them to participate in.

Any ideas? I think this is a great idea. The book hasn't made it to Charlotte yet as of last week. I will check tonight while the girls are in dance. That's my time to visit Barnes & Noble.

I have no clue as to what event to invite them to. As far as dates that would work for them, they are in D.C. on March 27th as their first event, In Nashville April 27th, and D.C. again on May 19th.

I figure that any one of these places is close enough for them to hop on a plane to come here.

I was hoping that one of our social readers knew of, was hosting, or was interested in hosting anything for them. I cannot since I do not own a bookstore or even a house.

Brad Miller is going to

Yearly Kos....maybe he'll host something. I doesn't hurt to ask does it?

No it does not...

Who has his contact information/ connection?

contact Miller

Talk to PJ Puryear with the Progressive Democrats. He works for Brad Miller.

Maybe they would come do a fundraiser for Brad Miller. They must find the Vernon Robinson situation entertaining/maddening.

Regulator and Quail Ridge

are both great venues for signings, and should be able to draw significant lefty crowds.

Wake Democratic Men's Club?

I'm the treasurer of the Wake Democratic Men's Club here in Raleigh.

We meet on the 2nd Monday night of each month. Our attendance ranges from 45-90 each month. We have a guest speaker at each meeting. I think State Treasurer Richard Moore is speaking at the April meeting

I wonder if we might be a good fit. Our venue can hold a lot more than the numbers I mentioned.

Please email me at if you'd like to talk about this...

It sounds like a good fit....

for everyone but me. I can only ditch the kids on the weekend. Wait...did I say ditch the kids? I would never ditch my kids. Not me. Not ever
