After dark

Robert P., needs a pep talk.

Yay?

Sorry man, that's about the best I can do. Read my post about American Airlines. That lifted my spirits briefly, in a perverse sort of way.

Doubts about Dole?

I know exactly what you mean.

That was definitely a story that made me smile.

Why we work so hard, and why we'll continue.

There's a reason why we post at BlueNC. It's something that ties us all together and compels us to actually produce content while so many others just read it.

We believe in the value of contributing to our democracy.

For years, most of us have worked hard in our personal and professional lives to support the values that we believe make the United States and North Carolina so great.

In the face of the most important election and greatest economic challenge of our lifetimes, we must hold fast to what has bound us together thusfar.

Keep your head up Robert. Keep your nose to the grind James. Keep working everyone.

My values: equality, equity, government for all people. Create your own list. Consider how you want them applied to your children's lives. Get up and get to work.

Yes We Can!

Graig,

I hope that when you run for office, it's a state-wide position, so that I'll be in the position to vote for you.

That's a hint, by the way. :)

No way Linda.

We're going to start him locally, so we can all benefit from him first.

You Want a Pep Talk, You Got It

Eight years ago, I was a high school dropout working in a factory. Factory closed down and moved to Mexico, I went to school and will soon have a B.S. from St. John's University. I have worked on campaigns from the local level to the federal level.

During this time, I relied at various times on food stamps and Medicaid and Social Security. I became totally disabled but I never stopped. There was a time that I was unable to even walk into my front yard for two years, but I sat in front of my laptop and kept plugging away.

But this is just my story. Many friends were not so lucky. There have been divorces, suicides, and managers turned used car salesmen and collection agents.

We are all still in the lower rung of the economic ladder. When I was laid off, I made around 35K per year. Now it is closer to 25K, if that. My friend Ken went from $35K to 20K. My friend Richard made about the same and can now barely find a part-time job.

Still, we hang signs when we can. We help people fill out absentee ballot requests. We blog. We talk to our friends and neighbors. We donate $5 here or $10 there.

Just know that there are a lot of hard-working people working very hard to make life better for themselves, their families, and the future.

We know the dire straits we are in. We want a change. We want to make a comeback. In short, WE NEED YOU.

I live in a $10K trailer in a mobile home park. One of my aunts and two of my cousins are facing foreclosures on their home. In the recent local paper, the Help Wanted section listed all of three openings.

So, please, RP, please help us turn this country around. WE NEED YOU!

Thank. You.

That is exactly what I needed.

Cherie Berry profiting from workplace injury

So not only does Cherie Berry believe that it ain't no thang if NC workers get hurt on the job, she also feels it's okay to take campaign contributions from the same companies who put their employees in danger!

Awesome. I feel bad for those of you who have to ride an elevator on a regular basis, one can only guess who else she is taking money from.

NPR poll on Palin Friday night, NOW NOW NOW!!!!!

http://ssomail.charter.net/do/redirect?url=http%253A%252F%252Fwww.pbs.org%252Fnow%252Fpolls%252Fpoll...

The rest of the text I Just got is ....

just have to ask you join in on this poll!

PBS has an online poll posted asking if Sarah Palin is qualified.
Apparently the Republicans knew about this in advance and are flooding the
voting with YES votes. I know -- it's only a poll. But it will be
reported on PBS, picked up by mainstream media and can influence undecided
voters in swing states.

Please do two things -- takes 20 seconds. It's only ONE QUESTION!

1) Load the link and vote yourself.

Here's the link: www.pbs.org/now/polls/poll-435.html

2) Then send this to every single Obama-Biden voter you know, and urge
them to vote and pass it on. The last thing we need is PBS having to say
our viewers think Sarah Palin is qualified. Please take a moment t o
provide your feedback. This is a single question survey. Thanks

I actively oppose gerrymandering. Do you?

Speaking of polls

7-11 has one. You purchase either an Obama or McCain cup of coffee and they track the choices online. They even have a map (follow the results tab) that currently shows North Carolina 51% Obama and 49% McCain.
