H1134, the bill to provide a remedy to the problem of all those abandoned mobile homes in North Carolina (40,000, count 'em!) made its way through the House Finance Committee. It went through some notable changes.
The bill now goes to the Senate.
Several Republican law makers entered the fray. One asked that the bill be extended to cover abandoned mobile classrooms. More significantly, the provision to assign liability to land owners where these homes are located was stripped out.
