Larry Kissell Leading by 11 in New Greenberg, Quinlan, Rosner Poll

Here's the release. I'm on the GQR press list and didn't get this since it was done for DCCC. I hope Dtrip will release the cross tabs. I'll get whatever else I can to you as soon as I get it.

Robin Hayes has gone extremely nasty. I knew something was up.

The Democratic Congressional Campaign Committee released a new Greenberg, Quinlan, Rosner poll today conducted September 28-29 that shows Larry Kissell leading Representative Robin Hayes by 11 points in the race for North Carolina's 8th congressional District. The initial head to head between Democrat Larry Kissell and Republican Robin Hayes is 54% to 43%. The poll surveyed 400 likely voters and has a 4.9% margin of error.

The 8th Congressional District shows a strong Democratic lean, with Barack Obama leading John McCain by 12 points (54%-42%) and Democratic Senate Candidate Kay Hagan leading Elizabeth Dole by 14 points (55%-41%). 8th District voters also believe that Larry Kissell will do a better job on the economy than Robin Hayes and that Kissell is more likely to stand up for North Carolina's workers.

"This poll shows that Larry Kissell is continuing to connect with voters in the district and that North Carolinans know he shares their concerns," said Kyra Jennings, Southern Regional Press Secretary at the DCCC. "While Robin Hayes has stood with President Bush to cast the deciding votes on unfair trade deals such as CAFTA and sent jobs overseas, voters know that Larry Kissell will always stand up for them."

I love some good news just before lunch

and since this is GREAT news, I'm thinking about raising a toast to Mr. Kissell over a sandwich! Sure, it's only bottled water, however, this is too good not to celebrate!

North Carolina. Turning the South Blue!

North Carolina. Turning the South Blue!

Outside the margin of error

Come on people. Can't you get excited about anything! :D

Doubts about Dole?

I'm excited, but...

Doesn't this go against every other poll? Like Chuck Todd was saying yesterday about Florida when one poll showed Obama up by 14 or 15, I believe he is winning, but probably by a few percentage points.

"The striking difference between me and my opponent is that I live in North Carolina and my husband can vote for me."
- Sen. Kay Hagan

Jesus Swept ticked me off. Too short. I loved the characters and then POOF it was over.

Other polls are for different time frames

Will have to see a poll during the same time frame for confirmation. GQR is a Dem firm, but all the polls I've seen where I'm getting cross tabs and questions are really well done.

Robin Hayes' negative ads may very well be turning people off.

What?!?!

This is awesome! And, correct me if I'm wrong... the first time we've polled ahead outside the margin of error. I can believe it...but I can't believe it!

Speaking of Congressional candidates

I met Daniel Johnson at a fundraiser yesterday. It's easy to see why McHenry is worried about holding on to his seat. Johnson's smart, presentable, articulate and even-keeled. I hope the voters in his district have the good sense to throw out Pat in favor of an honest representative.

I was polled

within the last week. The only races I was asked about were Kissell/Hayes and then Obama/McCain. The Democrats were first in both questions. They also asked me what was most important to me and since I could only choose one I chose the economy and jobs. This is very good news. I love Larry.

Lovex7

Go Larry

this has got to happen. Robin Hayes has so much more money and has not been successful in buying our votes this time.
