Who is the bigger priss?

Remember when primping was wrong?

Political candidates of all stripes want to show off their big ideas, superior intellect, uncommon leadership skills. But they also spend a lot of time making clear their ability to relate to the average man. That's what all the diner visits, rolled-up sleeves and folksy talk are meant to do. A $400 haircut isn't folksy. And it doesn't matter who's paying for it.

So, where is the outrage over this?

Sarah Palin brought one unusual accessory to the Alaska Governor's mansion after moving in last year: A tanning bed.

And, what about this?

John McCain...has his own close ties to show business...The 72-year-old was recently made TV-ready by makeup artist Tifanie White who's worked on So You Think You Can Dance and American Idol.

McCain paid the 2002 beauty-school grad $5,583.43 for her services, according to the Federal Election Commission.

So, you tell me, who is the bigger priss the candidate that spent $400 on a haircut and was skewered, or the candidate who spend 5 GRAND on makeup.

See, in the Republicans eyes, Democrats only pretend they care about all those social programs and the less fortunate poor. If they spend ANY money on ANYTHING other than charity donations, they are being hypocritical.

Since Republicans only care about money, profit and more money, it is quite alright for them to spend any amount of money on anything OTHER than charity donations. Let those damned poor people pull themselves up by their bootstraps, ya know?

How bad is Sarah Palin? Bad.

I have to give some credit to Couric, she seemed to ask a few tough questions and to hold her feet to the fire. I think we see the true Sarah Palin in the last seconds, which is also the Sarah Palin of "You can even play stump the candidate if you want."

Oh, and how did the thing at the U.N. turn out
?

This is what happens when campaigns let reporters into photo ops. They get all uppity and ask questions.

From the pool report account of what happened after McCain and Palin's meeting with Georgian President Mikheil Saakashvilli and Ukrainian President Viktor Yushchenko:

McCain then looked around the room and gestured as if to welcome questions. The AP reporter shouted a question at Gov. Palin (“Governor, what have you learned from your meetings?”) but McCain aide Brooke Buchanan intervened and shepherded everybody out of the room.

Palin looked surprised, leaned over to McCain and asked him a question, to which your pooler thinks he shook his head as if to say “No.”

Dude, you are in rare form.

Oh wow...she's awful

The American people are not looking to see what John McCain is going to do. He isn't even on the banking and finance committee. They're looking at what Chris Dodd and Richard Shelby, Chuck Schumer, Richard Menendez, Carper, Martinez, Corker, Reed and Dole (when she bothers to show up), etc. are going to do. All John McCain can do is vote on the legislation just like any other Senator. He can't invite himself into a committee and take over. Dodd and Schumer and Shelby have done a pretty good job of putting out their demands. I was watching the video and saw Paulson and Bernanke taking notes.

Putting her finger up in the air and doing the which way the wind blows routine was completely lost on Couric. She had this look in her eyes that said, "Dumbass." The economic "crisis" is serious and not the time for snotty little high school sarcasm.

From Susan Walsh at AP, now all over the internet. Did you know it is impossible to track down Susan Walsh?

I was trying to find out if she was asleep.

But, I have been unable to find any contact info for the photographer. Not sure she would answer anyways, but I think we deserve to know. If someone sat all day with a camera aimed at me, they could find me looking tired with my eyes closed at some point. Then again, she looks asleep.

FIVE BEST THINGS TO SAY IF YOU GET CAUGHT SLEEPING AT YOUR DESK:

5. "They told me at the Blood Bank this might happen."

4. "This is just a 15 minute power nap they raved about in the time management course you sent me to."

3. "Whew! Guess I left the top off the Whiteout. You probably got here just in time."

2. "Did you ever notice sound coming out of these keyboards when you put your ear down real close?"

And the NUMBER ONE best thing to say if you get caught sleeping at your desk... 1. Raise your head slowly and say, "...in Jesus' name, Amen."

Thanks for the excuses

It is Friday, it is raining and due to the gas shortage very few people are going to be in the office.... I am probably going to have to use one or two of these today.

“We are the party of Roosevelt. We are the party of Kennedy. So don't tell me that Democrats won't defend this country. Don't tell me that Democrats won't keep us safe.” ~ Barack Obama

#1 excuse is also Biddy's #1 excuse

I hear she uses it all the time!

Sarah PostTurtle Palin. yep.

That says about all you need to know about the GOP VP pick.

"They took all the trees and put them in a tree museum Then they charged the people a dollar 'n a half just to see 'em. Don't it always seem to go that you don't know what you've got till it's gone? They paved paradise and put up a parking lot."

saw the post turtle post.

As she is "allowed out" to play it becomes clearer and clearer that she is NOT ready to lead and that McCain took a serious risk with our future trying to play politics with women voters.

LOL PALIN!!!

I'm embarrassed for her. The poverty of content reminds me of both Prez. Bush and Sen. McCain.
