There are 40,000 abandoned mobile homes in North Carolina. (Census 2000) Philip Haire (D-Haywood), has a bill in the House that will give counties the ability to change that. Read about it here.
Talk to people in rural North Carolina, and they are certain to know something about abandoned mobile homes. They are everywhere -- on your drive to work, in the lot out near the restaurant, in the woods off the county road. Its a problem that aids criminals in their efforts to make meth. Its a problem that hurts tourism or economic development.
Rural officials want help on this.

Very interesting, Adam
Thanks for this update. I know it's an issue here in Orange County ... and I'll bet many other counties have more to worry about.
