Your hosting of and participation in my live blogs, inviting me to attend the Blogger Bash, your posts and comments have all contributed greatly to my campaign. Being a member of BlueNC is like adding a think tank to a candidate's campaign staff. Your insight on issues and projections of political trends have strengthened my campaign by strengthening me. I am grateful.
My gratitude also goes out to my family; my beautiful wife Pat, my children Todd, Andrea, and Stacey, their support through this primary process has been amazing and we certainly would not have accomplished what we have without them.
Thank you to my staff for their endless hours of dedication and hard work; Ryan, John, Amy, Miranda, Levi, Bruce, Wade, Chris, and our interns: Cooper, Matt, Tyler, Travis, and Tess. I am fortunate to have an amazing team working ceaselessly on my behalf.
Thank you to all the poll workers, volunteers, donors and supporters who made yesterday's victory possible. You are who I am fighting to represent and it is so encouraging to me that you are fighting so hard too.
I have much respect for Diane Hamby, her well-fought campaign, and her record of public service. I look forward to having her join Team Carter as we focus on the November election. My best wishes go out to her, her family and her staff.
It is time to shift gears and prepare for the November election. Team Carter is expanding, and is pumped up for victory. With a record turnout of voters yesterday, I received more votes than any Democrat in 5th District history. I have never seen a more motivated electorate. Great changes are coming to North Carolina and the United States of America. I am so pleased to be joined with you in being part of those changes.
Again, I thank you all for your support and look forward to reading your posts and comments and hopefully seeing you at a future Blogger Bash!
