I think a lot of folks are scratching their heads. I keep waiting for that earth shattering moment when Congress "gets" just how large a majority of people want our soldiers out of Iraq.
I can't remember which news show I heard it on in the past couple of days, but a commentator was talking about where the terrorists are, where al Qaeda is, where the Taliban are and the female? news anchor/person/whatever (I wasn't really watching - had it on for background noise) asked, "Why do we keep sending our troops where the terrorists aren't?"
I wish I could remember the who what when where why and how of the show, but I'm sure you get my meaning. At least now, the paid-for corporate media seem to be coming along with the public. Maybe Congress will "get it" soon.

Anyone watch 60 Minutes last night?
it was about the Iraqi people who threw their lot in with ours. Now they are being targeted by the Insurgents for helping the Americans and what do we do to help? Someone at the Defense Department tells them something like, "You knew this would be dangerous when you signed up". They save American lives, yet this administration sends a message to the whole world that if you throw your lot in with ours, don't count on us when the going gets tough! Ya know the old "YOYO" thing. (Your On Your Own!)
No matter that patriotism is too often the refuge of scoundrels. Dissent, rebellion, and all-around hell-raising remain the true duty of patriots.

I sometimes get a little "carried away". I guess I should allow some slack for those who are trying to end this thing, but cutting off your nose to spite your face (i.e., worrying about what will get you re-elected when you were just elected/re-elected with a mandate to stop the war). So I do feel a little better, but won't feel 100% until this clusterf*** ends.
