John Edwards Backs Feingold's Censure Motion

John Edwards has spoken out in support of Senator Russ Feingold's censure motion. With all that is coming out now about the selective leaking of classified information you just have to wonder if we will jump right into impeachment. Wouldn't it be refreshing to see a Republican required to obey the law?

The story on Edwards is in The Charlotte Observer.

Another reason to support Edwards

First, he can admit when he is wrong.
Second, because he has learned from his mistakes.

Jesus Swept ticked me off. Too short. I loved the characters and then POOF it was over.

Somewhere there was a poll

that gave an unflattering view of Edwards. Chris Matthews was talking to Tom DeLay about it during one of those Ooops-the-mic-is-on kind of moments. The poll said many see Edwards as a rich lawyer faking concern for the poor. I'm not sure where the poll was taken, but I don't think it was a national poll. I haven't personally seen those numbers.

I have no clue

I would like to think that he would though

My take on John Edwards

He went to D.C. and fell into the groove. His time away from Washington late in the election let him see what was going on in the grassroots. He is from those roots, unlike almost any other candidate. Remember that Kerry had him toiling away in every small town in PA and OH.

I believe he is talking from his roots.

I hope so, but I'm skeptical...

It's very easy for politicians that don't have jobs to say what they would or wouldn't do...

Edwards isn't really known for Empty Rhetoric

I'm inclined to trust him, but I see your point.

Edwards seems phoney on TV

and, I'm saying this because I've lived in both places for years. his personal style just does not play well in New England and the mid-atlantic. He DOES seem like a slick lawyer type 100 percent. I saw it in his first ad. (but no one asked my opinon!)

I've seen him in person and he seems genuine and wonderful. I can see why he wins over juries. And I think in person he could easily win over people from outside the south.

One problem for every southerner is an accent hurdle. Northerners, particularly New Englanders, have a clear unapologetic prejudice against it. They really think people with southern accents are stupid. They truly do. So every southerner has to get past that and he just doesn't on TV. Maybe on the longer, more personal interviews but not in an ad.

I like John personally

but have zero enthusiasm for him making another presidential run. I don't know where the national media get off with all their coverage of him and Hillary because I think neither of them has a chance. I'm much more enthusiastic about people like Mark Warner and Wes Clark. Both are experienced and proven leaders . . . which is about the last thing you can say when you're talking about a US Senator.
