Gun seizures on the rise at RDU.
How do supposedly responsible, law-abiding gun owners forget the handgun, sometimes loaded, packed away in their carry-on luggage at the airport?
And why does TSA not impose the maximum fine on every one of these idiots, and suspend their CCW permits, as a routine matter?
Our Radical Republican General Assembly says it's a good idea to have guns at the Little League game, or the youth soccer match, or locked in your car in a parking lot at Appalachian State. I guess it's a good idea to have one in the cabin of a commercial airliner, just in case. Nothing like live rounds flying around in an enclosed, pressurized cabin at 35,000 feet.

This is what happens...
...when the gun nuts are successful in their insistence that everyone have guns with them everywhere, all the time. Nearly 900 guns confiscated by TSA at airports nationwide.
The reporters found zero -- ZERO -- guilty verdicts from the 47 cases of trying to get illegal weapons past the TSA at the Raleigh-Durham airport prosecuted in Wake County since 2011.
Wake County prosecutor Colon Willoughby also wonders how some gun owners can be so irresponsible:

They didn't forget
They just can't bear the thought of traveling someplace without their high-powered security blanket.
When someone travels, they make decisions on every item packed, from their hat down to their socks, not to mention how many pieces of underwear they're going to need. They didn't "forget" about the gun, they just put their own desires above the safety of their fellow passengers.
