I just received a phone call from Kinston telling me that Willie Ray Starling has pulled off the upset victory over Stephen LaRoque. Starling will face Van Braxton in November.

Are you ready to rumble? This is the time to show Art Pope that a good Democrat can beat his hand-picked bumpkin any day of the week.

No offense intended Willie Ray, but any man who wears a camouflage business suit is a bumpkin.

Oh, god. I see I'm too late. Y'all did it? There's WillieRay in all his manlymanly glory. What the hell kind of pose is that, anyway?

I also looked under Education. I don't know why I surfed the man's site ... why do people slow down to gawk at highway accidents? One thing that stood out, though, is the list of obvious "professional development" type courses he put under "Education". That is just ... weird. We have to do this kind of training constantly. Who keeps up with this kind of shit? What sort of person lists this kind of shit as "education" that should qualify him for public office?

All of us down home on the farm were quite shocked that Willie Ray ousted Stevie. The local ENC message board had Stevie winning this contest by an overwhelming majority. However, evidently Willie Ray does not log on often. The chickens have come home to roost and are bringing Stevie with them. All of the local dentist offices have been open all night treating the local "illuminati" for damage caused due to the extensive gnashing of teeth. Rather than working on the fake Van Braxton site, they possibly should have considered working on a fake Willie Ray site.

I know "Shucks" is Sampley, swiftboater, alleged con-man, and a legend in his own mind. But I use his "anonymous" message board name in honor of one of his many split personalities that pretends to be a humble man-of-the-people.

Still I have to wonder ... what's with Kinston? When I think about what's appropriate and what's not

I don't worry much about satire and parody. What's really not appropriate is the extreme Theocratic positions Willie Ray espouses.

He can't decide if he wants God or the Puppetmaster or both running North Carolina, but either way, it's a dangerous road.

I don't mind the Bird Man having all the god he wants in his own life, but when he starts saying MY government should be organized to support HIS god, that's where I draw the line. Appropriately.

I didn't see the picture as being about daughters and whores, it was about two men with misplaced priorities. But looking through the eyes of others, I can see the point. I've deleted the picture for now, in the interest of self-policing and propriety.
