Over here at C&L our very own WATB Patrick McHenry(heretofore known as Golem)gets thrown under the bus by Barney Frank:

Barney Frank shows up at the end and says"…As I was walking by I thought I heard someone yelling, "the plan(sic) boss, the plane,"and I wanted to come in and see what was happening…

All of a sudden Golem is concerned about global climate change? Give me a break

Pre-Friday Smooth Blogging

I'm going to toss out this video from Roxy Music (the title track from the CD Avalon). I first heard these guys back in the mid 80's and was hooked. Bryan Ferry was such a smooth cat, I thought that guy had women hanging all over him (little did I know at the time he was/is gay and that he didn't really care that much about women, JC I was a naive kid).

Having read Anglico's post about doing something, I went to Edwards' website and sent him an atta-boy (as I've never heard a peep from either Limber Liddy, Forrest Burr, or He Who Cannot Cast a Vote Correctly, I'll go small for a while). So now that I've done my good deed, enjoy this blast from the past.

This about sums up the Bush Administration

From starting a war, to dismantling the Constitution, to escalation of the war, to appointing political hacks to oversee the different agencies under the executive office (EPA, OSHA, DOT, CDC, etc). Oh and let's not forget the latest brain child of the neo-clowns: deploying large mirrors in space to deflect sunlight to prevent global warming, and if that fails, they have a back-up plan: injecting particles into the atmosphere to block sunlight (unfortunately, I'm not making this shit up). As the song says, It's a mistake.

After the wife and I returned from our jaunt to the park (the thunder beasts LOVE the park), she laid down for a nap and I turned on the tube (no, not the intertubes, the teevee). Same ol' boring shit, 5000 channels, nothing but drivel. I left it on the station Mrs. V left was watching as she drifted off (ABC Family Channel, bleechk!). One of the commercials that came on during my viewing time was one for the Pregnancy Line. It was intriguing, because I did not think that ABC (Andrews Baptist Church) Family Channel would run such a commercial. They listed their website, so I decided to put on my flowered Hawaiian shirt, Detroit Tigers baseball hat, and hop in the Ferrari (OK, so it was my Gateway laptop) and decided to check it out. I can't say I was surprised, but yet, I was. Some of the surprising science I observed:

Time to crank out emails/faxes/letters

It seems the "Decider" has challenged congress to come up with a better idea to his failed war in Iraq and the escalation he is proposing. From CNN Politicalticker:

President Bush, on a collision course with Congress over Iraq, said Friday "I'm the decision-maker" about sending more troops to the war. He challenged skeptical lawmakers not to prematurely condemn his plan.

"I've picked the plan that I think is most likely to succeed," Bush said in an Oval Office meeting with senior military advisers.

The president had strong words for lawmakers on both sides of the aisle who are lining up to support resolutions opposing his decision to send 21,500 troops to Iraq. He challenged them to put up their own ideas. "Some are condemning a plan before it's even had a chance to work," he said.

Senator Hagel lays a beatdown on the Senate

Chuck Hagel (R-NE) takes the Senate Foreign Relations committee to the wood shed (hell he takes the ENTIRE SENATE back there for a much needed ass-whippin'). I stole the video from TBogg and it is well worth the 3 minutes or so to watch. Hell, I hope Hagel doesn't retire, we need more Senators, Congresspersons, and most definitely reporters, who will speak up and derail this fiasco wrought upon us by Bush.

Limber Liddy-You've lost that lovin' feelin'

Is it hot in here? Methinks the kitchen is too warm and one of the servants doth protest too much. One of my biggest beefs with the enablers on the right is that they are fickle, that's right, fickle.

When everything is going their way, hey it's all good. But when rebuked (as a whole) by their constituents, all manner of BS come out. As evidenced here, Limber Liddy goes through contortions that would make any Yogi green with envy. I wonder if the 2008 race is playing heavy on her mind?

It is not always fun to watch someone squirm, however in this instance, pass the popcorn and hand me a beer, this is going to get real intersting.
