And now a word from the fringe

NOTE: New headline inserted by Protzman, the first of many. I'm tired of providing (and paying for) a platform for people to speak who stand against almost everything I believe. I'll still allow posts that I don't find intolerably obnoxious, but that doesn't mean they'll run without commentary.

Sorry, Mr. Right. Just chalk it up to the free market at work.

What Exactly Does “Hand to Hand Combat” Mean?

President Obama stated the following today:

A Republican majority in Congress would mean “hand-to-hand combat” on Capitol Hill for the next two years, threatening policies Democrats have enacted to stabilize the economy.

There is obviously a difference between hyperbole, semantics and reality here. I doubt the president could have chosen a worse phrase to portend what November 2nd elections will give our nation. Freedom, limited government and a return to the Constitution will give us “hand-to-hand combat”? Does anyone believe that this pretender actually has even a 41% approval rating?

This is horrifying!!!

This is not good, just like the patriot act Bush put into place and Obama and the controlling democrat House/Senate voted to keep in place.

A new proposal by a top Microsoft executive would open the door for government licensing to access the Internet, with authorities being empowered to block individual computers from connecting to the world wide web under the pretext of preventing malware attacks.

Speaking to the ISSE 2010 computer security conference in Berlin yesterday, Scott Charney, Microsoft vice president of Trustworthy Computing, said that cybersecurity should mirror public health safety laws, with infected PC’s being “quarantined” by government decree and prevented from accessing the Internet.

President Lincoln Was A Terrorist, History Just Won’t Admit It

This article gives another perspective on liberals, libertarians and conservatives. The history both Lincoln and Sherman has been written by the victors and beyond reproach. Do we want to restore honor in this country? Can we restore honor by bringing up subjects over 100 years old? Comments are encouraged.

The American Lenin

It’s harder and harder these days to tell a liberal from a conservative — given the former category’s increasingly blatant hostility toward the First Amendment, and the latter’s prissy new disdain for the Second Amendment — but it’s still easy to tell a liberal from a libertarian.

Just ask about either Amendment.

Obama Pumpkins on Porches This Halloween

This is a new one, never seen a pumpkin carved into a shape of a Presidents head before. Creepy indeed!!

I’m going to carve my porch pumpkin that just says LOL.

As pumpkins line the front of my local market and appear on neighbors’ porches, I am reminded of the famous pumpkin described in Whittaker Chambers’ autobiography, Witness. A moving and beautifully written book containing much more than a tale of espionage and intrigue, Witness has had a profound impact on many conservatives, containing priceless words of wisdom while documenting a massive, tangled web of Communist infiltration into the U.S. government and mainstream media during the Cold War.

Should The FDA Regulate Sodium In Food?

The Food and Drug Administration has received a call to start a study concerning whether it should regulate or limit the amount of sodium that food items contain. Such a study would expense more than a few payday advances, to say the least, but numerous advisory groups, including the American Medical Association, are in favor of the FDA regulating sodium levels. Sodium is implicated as being far too present within the American diet. Blood pressure is known to be raised by sodium, which can lead to heart disease, the biggest killer in the US.

FDA Sodium study could take years

BJ Lawson Attacks Senator Burr?

Call to Action: Don't Let Burr Get Doled‏

I need your help -- Senate staff is working today to finalize the language on the floor version of S 510, the Food Safety Modernization Act, and our own Senator Richard Burr's staff is directly involved.

Senator Burr is a co-sponsor of this misguided legislation, and unfortunately his staff has been misled by interests pushing this bill that have neither the expertise nor interest in growing healthy food.

Roland McReynolds of the Carolina Farm Stewardship Association authored an excellent paper entitled Hurting NC's Local Food Harvest that details how this legislation will shut down farms and small food producers, killing yet more jobs in the process.
