This doesn't really qualify as a diary. It is just a friendly reminder for everyone on the weekend about what these campaigns are truly about. After all the back and forth and commercials and attacks and defenses, this is about this little girl, and what kind of future we will leave for her.
Over the past few days the US Senate campaigns have put out a number of endorsements. But I wanted to make sure that everyone knew about two that are near and dear to my heart. This week Cal gained the endorsements of two organizations that represent almost 80,000 North Carolina voters.
Today General Wesley Clark endorsed Cal Cunningham and his campaign to defeat Richard Burr.
Almost 4 years ago General Clark threw his support behind Jim Webb, catapulting a thoughtful veteran to a primary win and eventually a win over George Allen.
I wanted to make sure that everyone heard about some very exciting news in the U.S. Senate campaign. Last night, the Government Relations Committee voted to recommend that the classroom teachers, administrators and educational support professionals of NCAE endorse Cal Cunningham for U.S. Senate.
Over the next three weeks, the State Employees Association of North Carolina will host a series of town hall meetings on health insurance reform across the state. SEANC and community members will share their health care concerns and hear local experts discuss the dire need for health insurance reform. SEANC also invited local congressmen to join the town hall events.
“State employees are concerned about health care. Many of them can’t afford to cover their spouses or children on the State Health Plan, adding to the growing number of uninsured North Carolinians,” said SEANC Executive Director Dana Cope.
