My “First Day of Change” Agenda

We’ve had too many people behaving unethically in North Carolina state government in recent years. It’s a shame and it’s disconcerting. And it makes the job of the state’s next governor much harder and much more important.

I am committed to changing the face of state government on day one of my term as Governor. That’s why I have made a “First Day of Change” pledge to issue a series of executive orders and directives immediately after being inaugurated.

Below is a list of the changes that will be made on Day One. I’d love to hear what you think and how else you think we can improve the ethics of state government.

My Plan for a More Ethical State Government

Hi BlueNC!

It’s been awhile since I’ve posted. Ever since the primary ended I’ve been running between speaking events, rallies, debates and endless fundraisers. Yesterday both Pat McCrory and I spoke at the NC Coalition for Lobbying and Government Reform forum, and I thought I should share with you some of the ideas I proposed:

Thank you and on to November!

Whew! The last three days have been a blur—traveling on Monday, the excitement of Tuesday and the endless media obligations and phone calls today. Now that I got a moment, I would like to say thank you. I know I have a number of great supporters at BlueNC and I want to say thanks for your energy and for your vote.

I also know that there were some here who supported my opponent, but now I hope you will join me and the rest of the Democratic ticket because it’s time for us to unite this party and this state.

You can see the excitement building in the Democratic Party all around you. Our registration numbers are up and we had record turnout yesterday. We also know that we are on the right side of the issues for North Carolina families on health care, education, the environment, jobs, and more and more and more.

But we also know that we need to work together to reach out to independents, and yes, even some Republicans. If we come together now, I promise you I will be a fighter and a hard working candidate that won’t rest until Election Day and we will win.

Thank you and on to November!

A Positive Campaign

Dear Friends,

A few moments ago, I held a press conference here in Raleigh, where I announced that I will run all positive ads for the final weeks of the primary.

Frontpaged by James ... in hopes that this will be the start of a trend. Very happy to see this.

Building a New North Carolina

Today I am launching a new webpage called Building a New North Carolina. I wanted y’all to be the first to hear about it. The page is going to be dedicated to highlighting new initiatives that I will pursue as Governor as well as some I have already been working on as Lt. Governor.

Check it often because I will continue to release installments throughout the campaign. You should also visit my new Flickr and YouTube pages.

First up is Rural HOPE. It’s an initiative I helped create as Chair of the Health and Wellness Trust Fund. It will help our state’s 56 rural hospitals be better equipped to provide quality health care to patients without forcing them to travel hundreds of miles.

I look forward to your thoughts and questions.

Take care,
Bev
