Long ago, Republicans wrapped themselves in the flag and claimed they were the only true patriots.
Then they proclaimed only they had 'family values.'
Now, Dan Forest tries to convince us that only Republicans worship God.
He says Democrats worship an idol called 'big government.'
Forest, a likely Republican candidate for governor in 2020, said “the left” marches and lobbies for bigger government with “religious fervor.”
With certainty, North Carolina is in a battle. Not with an occupying force from another country but from within. And at present, “within” is winning. Yesterday was a remarkable day both in world affairs and finances. After citizens of the United Kingdom decided to detach themselves from the European Union (Brexit), reality began to set in. Where objectivity and intelligence took a backseat to ignorance. And while there are legitimate concerns for “independence”, a vote to secede was the end result. In the late 1980’s, I spent two weeks in England.
One year ago to the month, it was about religion freedom. Another day, another disdainful bullshit session in the North Carolina General Assembly. Unfortunately, there doesn’t seem to be an end in sight. And anyone who thinks the Republican controlled NCGA is a legitimate body of organization and representation on matters pertaining to the welfare of the State is truly vacuous.
The antics of heavy handed discrimination regarding others is by now, getting very tiresome. Whether on a state or national level, Republicans frequently interject their self-righteousness and indignation among those they were elected to serve. While this isn’t a new phenomenon, the amount of laws (by percentage) as a part of all laws either sponsored, voted on or passed; and which specifically denounces the interests and views of citizens today, is remarkable.
