Tuesday Morning Action Plan - Save our National Forests

This morning we have one thing and only one thing to do. This is the day that every single one of us will email or fax the US Department of Agriculture and tell them we do NOT think that selling off 300,000 acres of our National Forests is a good idea.

I know that each of you read everything I linked to yesterday and we all have our reasons for opposing this sale ready to go. If not, I'm going to provide you with a few you can use. This is IMPORTANT! This is the MOST important step of this action plan. We will repeat it every day to make sure this email is sent! Before I provide a list, if you want to read the links from yesterday, here is Monday's Action Plan. Here are some reasons why we oppose this sale:

Look inside for the goodies...

Friday Morning Action Plan

.....because you just knew I wasn't going to let you sit around on your butts and let our Constitution get ripped to shreds.

Today we're playing catch-up. We are going to revisit any of this week's action plans we didn't have time to follow through with.

Monday's plan can be found here. We phoned our Senators, Dole and Burr. We asked them (or their staffers) where the Senator stood on the Feingold censure resolution and we gave them our opinion for support of censure. They need to know they have constituents who support this resolution even if there is a snowball's chance on a warm day they would vote for it. If you prefer, you may email.

The rest are below the fold...

Wednesday Afternoon Action Plan

Today we have two things we need to do. First we need to keep the debate over censure for the President going. If you've been following through on the plan we have called, emailed and mailed our Senators. Now it's time to send letters to the editors of your local newspaper.

LTEs are best if they are short - one or two sentences and quickly make your point. (This goes without saying if you've kept it to two sentences.) It could be something as simple as....

Many pundits and members of Congress say it is a bad time to censure the President for breaking the law.

I say it's never a good time for the President to break the law.

Tuesday Morning Action Plan

I found it inspiring to be a part of an action plan yesterday to help build support for a censure resolution against President Bush. We need to send a message to the rest of the world that our country is one of laws and we do not believe that any man is above the law.

Lighting a fire under complacent, cowering Democrats in Washington is not going to be easy and won't take just one day of phoning and emailing.

Here is today's simple action plan. We should write letters to every single Democrat and the lone Independent in the Senate encouraging them to stand with Senator Feingold.

More below the fold...

Monday Morning Action Plan

I enjoy reading FireDogLake they have suggested an action plan that is short and simple.

Russ Feingold put himself on the line for progressives and the nation yesterday -- by announcing on This Week that he was going to introduce a Motion for Censure against President Bush for breaking the FISA laws.

Let's take a little time this morning, please, and phone your Senators. Let them know you were impressed by Russ Feingold -- and ask them to tell you what their position is on the censure proposal.

You can go here to find the phone numbers you need. While you're at it, go ahead and call your Representative in the U.S. House. They need to know what's brewing out here in the real world as well.
