Young Democrats Oppose Grocery Tax Hike
The Koch Family Would Pay $494.53 in Grocery Taxes Every Year Under Berger Plan

The Young Democrats of North Carolina released the following informational graphic opposing Senate President Pro Tempore Phil Berger's working class tax hike:

"Senate President Pro Tempore Phil Berger's Working Class Tax Hike is bad for young North Carolinians, the poor, and those on fixed incomes." said YDNC President Sam Spencer. "With taxes going up 225% on groceries, hard-working North Carolina families are hurt a lot more than they're helped by the other parts of Berger's plan. With taxes going up 6.5 cents on the dollar on prescription drugs, seniors get hit twice. When you add the over 100 new taxes in the Tax Fairness Act, it becomes an attack on the working class. It's appalling that Senator Berger and General Assembly Republicans would continue to threaten North Carolina families so they can give tax cuts to millionaires and corporations."
