You are invited to Carteret County Young Dem's Summer Rally with Kay Hagan

August 7 is the day to head to Morehead City for the Carteret County Young Dems and 3rd Congressional District Summer Rally and Picnic in the Park featuring Senator Kay Hagan and a whole slate of elected officials and candidates. Enjoy music by the Last Chance Wrangler's Band, mingle with friends and rub elbows with North Carolina's political elite...just kidding here. Seriously, Morehead City is beautiful this time of year and this is a great way to end your summer.

You can see the Facebook event here. The rally and picnic are free, but you can always donate to the Carteret County Young Dems, NCDP 3rd Congressional District, Carteret County Democratic Party, or your favorite candidate as a show of appreciation.

From the event page:

The rally will be held at Jaycee Park, South 9th Street, on the Morehead City waterfront. The rally begins at 5:30 and goes until dark. There are a few benches and swings but guests are asked to bring blankets and fold-up chairs for the grassy area.

The grills will be in full swing cooking delicious hot dogs with all the fixings, and of course, there will be chips, soft drinks/water and the Carteret County Democratic Women. are providing desserts!

We can't have a "Democratic Rally" without politicking so we have a number of speakers lined up including US Senator Kay Hagan as the headline speaker. We anticipate the following candidates to be on hand in addition to Senator Hagan.

Joy Lawrence, Carteret County Register of Deeds
Roger Eaton, Candidate for Carteret County
James Nolan, Candidate for NC
Carr Ipock, Candidate for NC Senate

NC Secretary of State Elaine Marshall
NC Insurance Commissioner Wayne Goodwin
NC State Auditor Beth Wood
NC Superintendent of Public Instruction June Atkinson

Justice Cheri Beasley, NC Supreme Court
Justice Robin Hudson, NC Supreme Court
Judge Sam Irvin, NC Supreme Court
Judge Mark Davis, NC Court of Appeals
Judge Lucy Inman, NC Court of Appeals
Judge John Arrowood, NC Court of Appeals

Chris Rey, Candidate for Lt. Governor
Marshall Adame, Candidate for US Congress

I doubt it...but now you can exercise your free speech and give her as much as you want! :)

I would LOVE to be there. Unfortunately, I gave my car to Emily and have not replaced it yet. I'm driving the farm truck since I don't get out much (quite literally) and I refuse to unleash that beast on the environment for anything more than a quick trip to buy gardening supplies.

Vote Democratic! The ass you save may be your own.

Now now

Our free speech is a two way street. We are a Corporation.

Unlike regular people, we give AND we get. In fact, we want a $1000 tax credit for every employee we might possibly hire in the next ten years. Senator Hagan will have to ante up.

Plus, ahem, build us some roads somewhere. We have places to go.

Now therefore.

will need a Morehead City tax-sheltered vacation home office anyway, right? You could have your grand opening of that office at the same time, grab your incentives, exercise your free speech and write the whole thing off!

"I will have a priority on building relationships with the minority caucus. I want to put substance behind those campaign speeches." -- Thom Tillis, Nov. 5, 2014

I'd love to go,

but as soon as I get a whiff of salt water, I'd be useless politically. Well, even more useless than normal. ;)
