Why, people, why?

Publish PostThat was the percentage of voters in the general election for city council here in Asheville.
They say people get the government they deserve, perhaps this is so.
Maybe things are lots better than I believe.
Maybe pigs will fly tomorrow.
Who knows?
All I know is the next time I walk down a street here, sit in traffic, go to an event....whatever; I will know that for each of me there are four freeloaders on the system of government nearby.
I hope they are satisfied with the results of their inaction.

That's standard turnout in muni elections

Sad isn't it? My mom's district had high turnout at 25%. Wow.

Robin Hayes lied. Nobody died, but thousands of folks lost their jobs.

Vote Democratic! The ass you save may be your own.

I was pretty happy with the 25% turnout in my precinct.

It was up over the last municipal election by a few points. Pinehurst had something like a 42% turnout because of a bitterly contested mayoral race.

I was happy with it until my son and a couple of the other teens said "only 25% - THAT SUCKS!!"

Be the change you wish to see in the world. --Gandhi
