What We're Reading: March Week 3

I've been reviewing all the numbers and I still don't see a pattern. Sometimes the top diaries are original reporting, sometimes commentary and sometimes open threads. There are weeks the front-pagers have more diaries in the top ten and some weeks we don't.

If there is anything I've noticed is that we have more traffic on threads that are discussing our takes on breaking NC news. Jim Black's resignation, Tricia Cotham's appointment, etc. We don't break the news, but we offer more depth to it. Fortunately, we always seem to have someone on top of breaking news.

Basically, the numbers continue to tell me that every diary and every writer is important to those who show up here looking for news about North Carolina politics. The following are this week's numbers:

#1. The Southern Dem - Tricia Cotham Selected to Replace Jim Black
#2. Robert P. - Edwards Says What Clinton and Obama Can't
#3. Robert P. - Bonior, Edwards, Auto Plants, Textile Mills, Coal Mines and Me

#4. Gregflynn - War and Peace on the National Mall Saturday
#5. Anglico - Jones Calls out Bush, Dole McHenry Do Disappearing Act
#6. Anglico - Great Op-Ed Column in N & O on Navy's OLF Plans
#7. Anglico - Open Thread - Weekend Wound Up
#8. The Southern Dem - Twofer: Young Dems Convention & Reception for Larry Kissell on Saturday 3/24
#9. Deamondeac - Southern Surrender versus Southern Strategy Debate Tomorrow Night
#10. Anglico - Money on the Line

Fortunately it isn't typical

You missed a helluva reception/convention. I saw Sam Spencer there and didn't realize until I got home that we didn't even speak to each other. He's such a snob. :) I had a nice chat with Chris Bowers. Brad Miller was there.

You'll love it. In the car home Emily was telling me about a picture she took of "Mr. Kissell and Senator Miller....I mean Congressman Miller." Thought you would enjoy that little slip.

Robin Hayes lied. Nobody died, but thousands of folks lost their jobs.

she is reading my work!

Its actually interesting if you look at impacts sometimes. there are often posts that have a higher impact on kos written by random people than frontpaged posts by kos. very empowering realization.

I Loved that little slip

I really want to hear about the convention.

Catchy titles always catch my eye. I want to read it all - I'm really sad when I can't :(

I have something to add to your calendar

I'll do a post soon. This convention would have been worth the registration fee even if I'm not a Young Dem. I saw BlueNC needs to have a hospitality suite next year for Friday evening. (Lookit me spending money I don't have.)

This past week is the first time in a year that I've been so far behind it took me more than a few hours to catch up. I read every post and every comment. I didn't always comment when I wanted to because it was no longer timely, but I do try to keep up. When I went to bed last night my track changes was clean of new comments. someone was busy overnight. :)
