A walk in the woods

I spent yesterday reading A Walk in the Woods, by Bill Bryson. It's a fantastic book, the story of one guy's run in with the Appalachian Trail. Chock full of interesting facts, and more than a little criticism of how state governments and the US Forest Service so badly manage natural resources owned by the public.

That book cracks me up. The first 2/3's is

some of the coolest, funniest yet informative writing I have ever read. Bryson just nails so many things about the AT. I guess my enthusiasm for the book is to be expected as I hiked the AT in 1997. Had a great time!
Glad you enjoyed it. Everyone should give it a read.

I actively oppose gerrymandering. Do you?
